Guarded by the towering Velebit mountain range in the east and hugged by the Istria Peninsula in the northwest lie the Kvarner bay islands. Quiet coves of crystal clear water surround the dramatic landscapes of the Kvarner bay islands; green hills and rocky moon landscapes give way to small harbor towns rich in history and culture. Discover the charm of the Adriatic Sea for yourself by bike and boat on board one of our romantic motor yachts.

Crystal clear water, deeply fissured cliffs and picturesque beaches – that is the beautiful Kvarner Bay. The day begins with a well-rounded breakfast leaving you fit to explore the diversity of the Kvarner bay islands on a guided bike tour. Be it the medieval city of Rab, the car-free road in the sky on Dugi Otok or the contemplative life of the dwellers on the flower island of Molat, each day brings with it new discoveries. Evenings are mostly spent in picturesque harbor towns with winding alleyways where a great range of bars and cafes stand host for a relaxing evening.

The friendly crew will always make sure that you enjoy an easy-going journey. This tour belongs to the Plus-Program and matches activity with comfort. The proud motor yacht Andela Lora is your comfortable home for an amazing week. Tenderly decorated roomy cabins, bathrooms with separate shower, a comfortable sundeck as well as a stylish salon await your visit.

Due to changing wind and weather conditions as well as organizational requirements the tour could be conducted in reverse order.

The ship – Your sailing hotel
In between cycling excursions, you cruise along with the ship, which travels to a new destination every day. You dine, sleep and eat breakfast on board. You’ll receive a packed lunch every day, and you can usually choose between a longer or shorter bike ride. It’s also possible to spend a day on board if you like. There are rental bikes on board, but you can also bring your own if you mention it when booking.

Day to day program

All distances are “approximate distances” of recommended bike tours.

The tour details are barring changes, a.o. as a result of nautical, technical or meteorological reasons. We reserve the right to make changes to the itinerary, depending on wind and weather conditions or organizational requirements. Sometimes the tour will be conducted in reverse order. You will find further details in your booking information package.

Day 1: Embarkation: Omišalj | Omišalj – Cres

Individual arrival in Omišalj, a nice little harbor village on the island of Krk. If you’re planning to arrive by car, we will organise a safe parking space for you. Check-in on the motor yacht between 2 and 2:30 pm. At approx. 3 pm the ship takes us to the island of Cres in about four hours. On Cres we take a walk through the Venetian old town in the evening.

Day 2: Cres – Martinšćica (Approx. 28 km/18 mi.) | Martinšćica – Mali Lošinj

After breakfast we start our tour from the city of Cres to Martinšćica. The boat awaits your arrival and lunch is served during the cruise to the island of Lošinj. If the weather is good, the captain will arrange a swim stop along the way before tying off in the harbor wellness town of Mali Lošinj. The port with its colorful facades and numerous cafes offers its visitors a welcoming atmosphere for a relaxed evening.

Day 3: Lošinj – Veli Lošinj | Veli Lošinj – Molat (Approx. 20+10 km/12+6 mi.)

We cycle along the seaside promenade to the south of Lošinj and visit the picturesque small harbor of Veli Losinj before you will meet the ship for lunch. In the afternoon we cross over to the island of Molat, where we can do another short cycling tour. Finally we stay overnight in a quiet harbor of Molat island.

Day 4: Molat – Dugi Otok | Dugi Otok – Božava – Sali (Approx. 42 km/26 mi.) | Sali – Zadar

During breakfast the ship leaves Molat and takes us past many small islands to the “spice island” of Dugi Otok. Our bike tour starts in the bay of Božava, which is surrounded by woods of pine, agave and tamarisk trees. We ride on a road almost free of traffic. Our ride along the islands “Road in the Sky” takes us to Sali, where the boat awaits us for a sail to Zadar, which, for centuries, was the political, cultural and spiritual center of Dalmatia. 3000 Years of history have left their imprint on the character of this town and there are many things to be admired: the mighty fortified walls with their bastions, the loggia but also the early Romanesque St. Donatus Basilica. In the evening our tour guide takes us on an extensive walk through the lively city center.

Day 5: Zadar – Island of Pag | Novalja – Lun (Approx. 20 km/12 mi.) | Novalja Sea – Island of Rab

After a long crossing in the morning we reach the island of Pag. In the harsh but delightful landscape of the island we come across many fig and olive trees. Over the centuries the inhabitants have built numerous stonewalls for protection against the wind. Starting in Novalja we cycle on the narrow peninsula until we reach the sea from where the ship takes you to Rab. The island of Rab is one of the sunniest places in Europe. The town of Rab, the fortified capital of the island, was built in the Middle Ages on a wedge shaped headland, and marks one of the highlights of the trip. The four famous bell towers are the symbol of the adorned beauty of the town. After dinner we can explore the narrow alleys with numerous cozy cafés.

Day 6: Island of Rab (Approx. 25 km/15 mi.) | Island of Rab –  Jablanac – Island of Krk

Get to know the charming island of Rab on a lovely ride around the island. At lunchtime the ship awaits us in the harbor directly in front of the old town of Rab. We cruise to Jablanac near the picturesque Zavratnica fjord. Later on the ship takes us over to the neighboring island of Krk where we spend the evening in the historical town of Krk.

Day 7: Island of Krk Vrbnik – Omišalj: Bay of Soline (Approx. 45 km/28 mi.)

We cycle over the ridge of the island, which is covered by fragrant “macchia” to a valley of vineyards and then onwards to the small museum town of Vrbnik in the northeast. The town, built on a 50-meter-high cliff and surrounded by vineyards, is the home of the famous white wine, Žlahtina. Another peculiarity that Vrbnik has to offer is the second narrowest alley in the world. The way leads us across the island through old villages and rich vegetation to Omišalj. On our way we have a chance to swim in the bay of Soline. A cheerful evening meal on board the boat gives you time to celebrate the success of the week with fellow travelers and tour guides.

Day 8: Disembarkation: Omišalj

After breakfast disembarkation until 9 am. and individual trip home.

Good to know
  • Itinerary changes We reserve the right to make changes to the itinerary, depending on wind and weather conditions or organizational requirements. Sometimes the tour will be conducted in reverse order. You will find further details in your booking information package.
  • Language Due to our international audience all Islandhopping tours are conducted bilingually, in English and German.
  • E-Bike Level 1 / Hybrid Bike Level 2 – 3 Our cycle tours are suitable for both: hybrid and e-bikers. You should decide beforehand, which bicycle you wish to rent. You are free to set aside a half or full day to swim or to spend time on board the boat, instead of taking part on a planned cycle tour.
  • Requirements for hybrid bikers (level 2-3): The cycle tours require a basic level of fitness from participants, which they should have acquired from regular cycling. The tours will take us up to a height of 200 to 650 m above sea-level. The day-tours from 12 to 37.5 mi. (20 to 60 km) will take us through hilly and mountainous terrain and can be completed without any time-constraints. Participants will also need to master long and steep climbs, during which they are, however, also permitted to push their bicycles. We traverse mostly asphalted roads, which are rarely frequented outside the holiday seasons.
  • Requirements for e-bikers (level 1): E-bike tours suitable for Islandhoppers with a good basic level of fitness. The tours and the elevation gain are very manageable with an e-bike (30-60km and 400-700 m of elevation per day).
  • Group riding pace: On our e-bike tour programs, the riding pace is determined by the cyclists on e-bikes. Guests who are taking part on these tours on a regular bicycle should have the necessary physical condition to keep up with this pace. We thank you for your understanding.
  • Requirement to wear a helmet Helmets are mandatory on our bike tours. It is advised to bring your own, well fitted, helmet with you as our rental helmet numbers are limited (reservation required).
  • Bringing Children We believe that only children with a good physical condition and previous bicycle tour experience and a minimum age of 10 are able to master the cycle tours with their own strength. Please note that the minimum height for a rental bike is 1.30 m (4.3 ft.) for hybrid bikes and 1.50 m (5 ft.) for e-bikes. In Croatia there is a helmet duty for all children up to age 16.
  • Catering The on-board chef is a member of the crew and prepares the breakfast and one or two warm meals a day. The catering consists of 4 x full board and 3 x half board. Catering starts with the dinner on the arrival day and ends with the breakfast on the departure day.
  • Our ships Please do not forget that the ship is your hotel as well as a machine, which has to be maintained and operated – day and night. A certain level of noise is therefore inevitable.

We loved our Croatian bike and boat tour. It was the perfect blend of exercise, guided tours and boating. We didn’t have to plan a thing or make the arrangements. The guides gave us our plans for each segment at our meal times together. The staff was friendly, but you wouldn’t know they were living on board with you. The…

Our family recently completed a Croatia Bike and Boat tour. The staff was amazing, the food good and the countryside, towns and cities were beautiful. We would do it again in a heartbeat.
