Unfortunately, the 2021 season was also dominated by Covid. After the end of the lockdowns, in June, Boat Bike Tours was able to resume operations as one of the first cruise operators. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we had to adjust a few routes and change ships, which required extra efforts from us and our partners. Thank you very much for your cooperation and understanding! We can proudly state that everything went very well, there were no incidents, and our guests were very satisfied with their trip.

From now on we look ahead and prepare together with you for a hopefully normal 2022 season. In the aftermath of the Corona planning 2021, we unfortunately had to make a few changes for 2022, all of which will lead to more continuity and more tour dates. We would like to share these changes with you here. We sincerely hope (along with you) that these will be the only program changes for 2022.

Two new ships in the Netherlands

The river cruiser De Willemstad (96 pass.), originally planned for 2021, will be deployed weekly Sat-Sat on our Northern Tour (North Holland & Friesland) from the end of May 2022. The new Poseidon (94-96 pass.) will operate from Sunday to Sunday throughout the 2022 season, alternately on the Northern Tour and the Southern Tour (both tours can be combined).
During the entire 2022 season, De Holland will sail the Hansa Highlights Tour (Sat-Sat) and, as usual, De Amsterdam will sail weekly on Saturdays on the Southern Tour from early April to mid-October.

Due to the addition of the two new river cruisers, the seasonal planning for the Northern, the Southern and the Hansa Highlights Tours has changed somewhat compared to our previous publications. Therefore, please check your websites and other publications.

More tour dates

Three extra tour dates with the premium barge Magnifique II are available for our beloved five-day Tulip Cruises, i.e. with departure dates on 9, 13 and 17 April.

On the route between Amsterdam and Maastricht we have added extra departures with the barge Gandalf, namely on 16, 23 and 30 July and 6 August.

On the (guided) tour “Historic Hanseatic Cities” we also added four departures with the Sarah on 16, 23 and 30 July and 6 August.

A trip from 9 April has been added for the special Sail & Bike Tulip Tour with the sailing vessel Mare Fan Fryslan.

The Sail & Bike Wadden Sea tour with the Leafde Fan Fryslân has an extra departure on Sunday 1 May and two departures have been added with the Mare Fan Fryslân on Saturday 23 and 30 July.

On the other hand, the earliest departure on 26 March with De Amsterdam on the Southern Tour has been cancelled: the first departure of the 2022 season is on 2 April.

“The best of Holland and Belgium” with the Fluvius

These trips between Amsterdam and Bruges with the Fluvius and on 2 dates in September with the Lena Maria are offered, as usual, with guided bike tours, in which the guests cycle daily as a group with our tour guide. In 2022, however, these trips will also be offered on all dates and at a slightly lower price in a variant where the guests cycle independently, so without a tour guide. We request that all partners clearly indicate when booking whether the guided or individual tour option is being booked.

Mother tongue / native language of guests

We request all partners to state the mother tongue (in the Partner Login: “native language”) of the guest when booking. Then we know in which languages (English- German-Dutch) the daily briefing on board should take place.

All updated tour programs for 2022 with dates, prices, inclusions and all other details are available as PDF files (Dutch, English and German) in our Dropbox account, from which they can be downloaded:

Covid measures in 2022:

Soon we will send a special Partner Update in which we will elaborate on the Covid-related measures and policies that will apply in 2022 for trips for which Boat Bike Tours is the organizing tour operator. In general, Boat Bike Tours will of course comply with all government measures for the country / countries in which the tour takes place in 2022. Now, however, Boat Bike Tours does not set any additional requirements that are stricter than the official government requirements for (international) travel and/or for visiting hotels, restaurants, etc.
