Our second wonderful bike barge tour…

Our second wonderful bike barge tour experience. This time from Paris to Epernay on Zwanjtze. The cycling group was great. Some really good fit cyclists and some not very fit cyclists, but that did not matter as everyone was tolerant, friendly and helpful. We all had fun and made lasting friendships along the way, helped by the champagne tastings I’m sure! The cycle tour leaders were helpful, knowledgeable and professional and joined in the fun in the evenings. The ladies facilitating the running of the barge were just amazing, kept everything spotless and so very friendly and helpful. The barge was kept lovely, the cabins were adequate and we devised a routine to facilitate showering and changing. After our tour in Italy on the Ave Maria I expected a similar fabulous dining experience but the evening meals this year were only average in my view, despite similar galley facilities? However, this may not be as important for others and it will not stop us from joining another tour next year. Overall a great holiday.
