    Description of the cabins

The Princesse Royal has sixteen cabins, situated on the lower deck. Guests are accommodated in twelve twin cabins (11 m² – 118.5 sq.ft.) with two single beds set next to each other, three premium twin cabins (14 m² – 151 sq.ft.) with two single beds next to each other and a small sitting area and one single cabin (7 m² – 75.5 sq.ft.). On prior request, the beds in most twin cabins can be set together as a double bed. On request, an additional bed is available in some twin cabins for children up to age 16 (as fold away bunk bed, above one of the other beds). Each cabin has an en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin. All cabins have an individually regulated air conditioning, ventilation system and central heating; the portholes in all cabins are fixed for safety reasons. Furthermore, each cabin has a flat screen (satellite) TV, a mini safe and a hair dryer.

    Description of the ship

On the upper deck, the Princesse Royal has a tastefully furnished lounge with air conditioning, restaurant, a beautiful bar, a sitting area with cozy corners, a wide screen TV and large windows. Wi-Fi is available. Furthermore, the Princesse Royal offers two partly covered teak wooden sundecks with chairs and tables where you can have a drink when the weather is nice and enjoy the scenery while cruising. On the elevated aft deck you will find a barbecue and a whirlpool/Jacuzzi to relax.

Metz to Cochem bike tour above and beyond service.

Did Metz to Cochem bike tour. We got off to a rough start because the barge we were booked on had a catastrophic mechanical issue. Boat bike tours was able to find a replacement boat in a short period of time but had to advance the tour by 1 day. As we missed day one, they added a special tour for us on the last day and put our group of 14 up in a hotel. Jake, the tour guide was awesome. She is knowledgeable, friendly, and just a great person to spend some time with. Looking forward to our next biking adventure with this company.

The tour guides Hetty and Andreas made&

The tour guides Hetty and Andreas made this trip. We encountered severe flooding and even an engine room fire at the end of our trip. But Hetty and Andreas did a fantastic job adapting and overcoming constantly changing conditions and conflicting situations. All with a smile and a sense of humor. The staff was constantly making new arrangements for us with last minute bus trips and hotel arrangements. Great behind the scenes support!

Despite the high water on the Rhine

Despite the high water on the Rhine, the experience and staff were outstanding. The staff made the necessary changes on a moment’s notice. They were flexible, kept us informed, friendly, kind, upbeat, and patient. The staff all seemed to act like a family which made the atmosphere very nice. The food was outstanding and offered many choices for breakfast and lunch. Dinner was always delicious and presented nicely. It was also nice to have an afternoon snack. The rooms were great and it was a pleasant surprise that the rooms were cleaned daily. After a fire in the engine room, the staff did an outstanding job to pack up our belongings in our rooms and deliver our suitcases to the hotel under very challenging circumstances. I always felt safe and that the staff had the situation under control. My only complaint, however, my non-electric bicycle was great, that some guest’s bicycles were not in working order and seemed to cause some riding and gear changing issues. I would not hesitate to book another trip with BoatBike Tours and look forward to doing so in 2026.

      Best Vacation Ever

Best Vacation Ever! Don t dismiss this as mere hyperbole. Had our Boat-Bike tour from Cochen to Aschaffenburg gone according to plan I would have called this a Great vacation. Best Vacation Ever requires clarification because our tour did not go as planned& .it went better. We have Mother Nature to thank for derailing our original tour: the three rivers our tour was to transit were flooded, including the easy bicycle paths alongside them. Our captain and tour guides kept working on contingencies: what would happen if authorities shut down the rivers? Where would we go if berths were unavailable? What routes could we take to continue to visit each city as planned if the easy bike paths were flooded.? Some contingencies worked as planned; others did not and it was back to the drawing board. Throughout it all our guides and the boat crew were upbeat while they arranged for alternative lodging, dining, and bike route options for every contingency. One day s announcement to we passengers might be We re on to Plan H, and the next day s might be We re now on to Plan N! Having to travel inland to reach our next destination because the easy bike path along today s river was flooded, we cycled amongst gorgeous German countryside we would not have seen had we stayed on the easy paths. We visited small towns off the beaten path that specialized in local cuisines, wines, beers. And at the end of the day, if our boat had not caught up with us Boat Bike Tours arranged for us all to be together in excellent hotels and fine restaurants. Fueled by the resiliency of our guides and boat crew, we 31 passengers bonded together stronger, even developing an appetite for adversity. We were all part of a larger adventure, one that we came to call Our Magical Mystery Tour. No vacation has ever left us and our new-found friends feeling this way. Best Vacation Ever! Will my wife and I do this trip again? In a heartbeat. Would we like it to go as planned? Perhaps not :& Keep up the great work

“Thank you for sharing such an incredible experience with us! We’re thrilled to hear that your Boat-Bike tour turned into the “”Best Vacation Ever”” even when (or because) Mother Nature had other plans. It’s truly rewarding for us to hear how our captain, guides, and crew worked tirelessly to ensure your journey was not only uninterrupted but even more enriching. It sounds like the unexpected detours through the countryside, and the resilience of your fellow passengers made this adventure truly special. We’re so glad to know that despite the challenges, or perhaps because of them, you and your wife had an unforgettable time and forged lasting bonds with new friends. Thank you for your kind words and for embracing the spirit of adventure with us. We would be delighted to welcome you on another journey! Best regards, Boat Bike Tours”
