Avignon to Aigues Mortes, June 3-10, 2023

This was my second Bike and Barge with Bike Boat Tours, the first being Best of Holland on the Magnifique II in 2019. The Provence Bike and Barge used a sub-contractor, Girolibero, which in almost every aspect was inferior to the Holland Bike and Barge. – Guide (Micaela) treated us like she was the school teacher and we were her Kindergarten students. The first day was to assess us but she never adjusted her behavior. Majority of our group was on manual bikes while she was on an ebike. She was so far ahead of the group she had no clue what was going on. Guides should not be on an ebike when the majority of bikers are on manual bikes. . -Accommodations: The rooms were very small. There was no separate shower. We had to shut the bathroom door and the whole room became the shower leaving everything wet. At the very least a squeegee should have been provided to help mop up the water. -Internet – Never worked even though it was to be available in the common area. -The food was very good. The Chef (Dani )and the steward (Alice) were a pleasure to deal with. The Captain (Fabrice) was personable and made an effort to mingle. Note: I sent an email directly to Boat Bike Tours directly when I returned but have yet to receive a response.
