Biking Experience was Awesome; Food was Lacking!

Our cabin was very nice and well appointed for the most part, quite roomy for two, especially since we didn’t spend much time there except for sleeping. The small shelves definitely help to keep devices charged and organized My only suggestion is that the beds could be firmer, especially for “older” guests with back or hip issues. I would have also liked the option of having a wash cloth and/or a hand towel, and a small bar of soap.

The biggest negative was with regard to the food. First, I think that the breakfast food should be set up in a separate area from the lunch station, as it took guests too long to get their breakfast, and many felt that they had to create their lunch sandwiches at the same time. So, we stood in line for breakfast longer than needed, and by the time some went back to create their lunch, there was little to choose from. The breakfast often was depleted before all guests were served. One morning, almost all the guests went through the breakfast line, many seemed discouraged that there wasn’t an egg or protein option, and then, the kitchen brought out a bowl of hard boil eggs after many had already begun eating. For lunch, there should be more options than just eating ham every single day! Another meat choice like turkey or chicken would have been better, as well as having consistent access to lettuce, tomato, and various condiments. Some days, it was really slim pickings to make a decent lunch,. Variety to the lunch snacks would have also been appreciate as well. And, finally, the evening meal was a huge let down, not just for my husband and I, but many other guests that we talked to. There were a few “delicious” items throughout the week, but mostly we were disappointed. Case in point, the “asian” night was very confusing, spicy and limited…no one said “take only 1 shrimp and 1 egg roll!” So some people got none at all, (and they never brought more to our table, like they did for others) and the beef and peppers served over rice was frankly inedible because the meat was so tough no one could even chew it. I know there were many guests who went to bed very hungry that night as it was left on most of their plates. I must admit that I had very high expectations to experience some amazing food, as stated by guests on your promotional videos, and by guests on the boat whom we met the night before, who just raved on and on about all the food….as it was prepared by the previous chef. So, I think you seriously may want to reconsider not using our chef again!
