Our trip was billed as a boat based bicycle tour of Bordeaux wineries…there were lots of wineries but the company hadn’t contacted most of them, so after 5 days of riding, we only had 2 wine tastings and one tour…most wineries didn’t do any tours or tastings and the few who did said they needed reservations…the tour just hadn’t done their homework and it was pretty disappointing. The boat was very nice and the food was pretty good, although breakfast was the same every day… I’m not too crazy about the policy of charging for all drinks except tap water between meals, it just seems real cheap…I get charging for alcohol, but free cokes would’ve nice. The staff we had the most contact with were very friendly and helpful, but the captain spent a lot of time at the bar, and the tour guide needs to try to appear a little excited. We did have a good time and met lots of really nice people!

Thank you for your feedback about the tour in Bordeaux. We asked the owner of the ship for a comment: All the drinks and alcohol have cheaper prices on board than in any restaurant or bar. Of course, water is free on board and a bottle of of 1.5 liter water (flat or with gas) cost 2.5 €. The prices of the bottles of wine are between 17 and 32 €. This is the price they will find elsewhere for this kind of wine. Each evening a different wine is offered at 2.5 € per glass to allow passengers to enjoy all types of Bordeaux wines. Every wine is different! Each palace also, that is why the service of the corkage fee of 10 € is proposed (it assumes the expenses of services, glasses, cleaning, conservation fridge, bins ...). It is often refused in the establishments of Bordeaux, but the boat cannot propose a range of wine sufficiently extensive in a region where there are more than 7000 castles.
