Our boat bike tour from Bruges to Amsterdam was one of the best experiences my husband and I ever had. We saw so many amazing sites we could never have found on our own. Our daily bike trips were breathtakingly beautiful and we didn’t even have to carry our stuff town to town knowing it was safely waiting for us on the boat when we returned that night. The staff were so wonderful and personable. We we’re very sad to leave our trip and are excited to book another boat bike tour in the future!

Great trail & scenery & towns. Traveling companions were great, and we didn’t know any of them before the trip. Ilse is an excellent leader. She knows a lot of history and is good at explaining it, so we tried to make sure we rode in her group, as the other leader didn’t provide that same background info. Astrid is an excellent chef; she could go on TV with her explanations of our dinners. The e-bikes seemed fine, but the other bikes could use more attention to the maintenance of the brakes. Several folks had problems with the brakes during the week. And, the low gear on the bikes is not very low, so it’s good that the hills were short.

I absolutely loved my time on the Maastricht-Amsterdam boat bike tour on the Gandalf boat. The Gandalf accommodates a small group of 20 which was the perfect amount in my opinion. All 20 of us got close over the week, and I know I made some long lasting friendships! The Gandalf boat does not have air conditioning though, so if you are sensitive to that, book one of the larger boats. However, I couldn’t recommend the Gandalf enough. The staff were all amazing: so funny, so helpful, and so friendly. The vibe of the boat was casual and we even became friends with the Gandalf crew as well. Captain Hans is an absolute gem! Our bike guides Michiel and Linda were so knowledgeable. They showed us their Dutch culture in many ways: a Dutch treat tasting, pointing out idiosyncrasies of their society that were exemplified across our route, they knew shortcuts for when the weather turned for the worse, and scenic routes for us to enjoy our ride a little further. The food was amazing, and made me love Dutch food…something I’d never tried before! The bike rides were beautiful and not too difficult. The Netherlands is very flat! I couldn’t recommend this tour more.

We loved our Boat Bike Tour around Friesland. The boat was beautiful and our room was perfect. We especially liked having our own bathroom. The food was delicious and plentiful. Our hostess, Monique, was friendly and helpful. Elka was always available to help plan our biking route and did his best to give us the best experience despite the cold, windy weather. We have been to Friesland before but we were able to see so much more when touring by bike (the bikes were very nice too!) We are already planning another boat bike tour!

We were a party of 10. Grandparents, 2 sons in law , 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren 21,21,16, 18 boy, Who at 6,7” took a lot of filling. They certainly succeeded in coping with this slim young man’s appetite. The staff were so good to make everything special and the boat amazing. The chef fantastic. Great time had by us all. Cycling so beautiful. A wonderful way to create memories for our family. Adventures are great whatever the age.
