The food was fantastic. Chef “Roger” was awesome. Dinners were delicious. Each day after our bike travels the crew set out a gorgeous and delicious snack. Our every need was meant by Jolene and Daniel. We met the first Captain and saw him on the first day. He left partly through our journey. The second Captain was amazing! He actually helped out the crew doing dishes behind the bar! And was always around for conversation. He was first class. We also loved the size of the boat. To only have 32 people and Not hundreds was a benefit. And yes, we will be going again! I think the only downside to the trip we would’ve liked to have had more independence in biking.

Advertise the trip as a repo tour, and reduce the price, or start the first trip from Cologne. The first few days were boring, cycling through industrial estates and time bound. There was very little time for village tours, and the villages were too few & far between. Due to Pentecost holidays very little was open, start times delayed and missed stops. It was obvious no one had cycled this trip for a long time due to detours, and dangerous ramping at times. Only e-bikes should be used, and training for new e-bike users. Franklin the guide tried desperately to come up with resolutions. I would not recommend this trip. Please note the tour started in Amsterdam, these first three days should be removed from the tour.

The overall experience was disappointing and did not meet our expectations.
The trip we took was as actually a repositioning cruise which we were not aware of prior to boarding. Consequently we feel the ’trip’ commenced in Cologne, days later not Amsterdam where we boarded.
The staff on board did an exceptional job with clean & comfortable cabins. Our guides seemed inexperienced in the route taken. At one point I was left stranded, by myself, on the outskirts of an unfamiliar town for 30 minutes waiting for the second group of the tour to arrive. This was due to a breakdown in communication between the two guides.
This particular cruise I would not recommend to my family & friends.

Guides and all the Staff was fabulous. The actual experience lived up to the description very well. Food was delicious. I loved the biking portions, and the bikes provided were first class and powerful bikes. I can totally recommend this companies tours.

Guides and all the staff were great. Barge was beautiful! Biking was on well maintained bikes and in interesting areas!

Great food and accommodation (we had a suite). Crew were friendly and professional. Liked to be able to ride independently with Ride with GPS app.

We had a couple in our group that wrecked their bikes 7 times in a day (once the woman ran into the back of me) so the guides wouldn’t let them continue riding. Kudos to the guides for making me and the rest of the group feel safe! The guides should be congratulated by the company for keeping everyone safe! I want to add the entire crew on Magnifique IV was fabulous, no they were better than fabulous! Keep them together if you can… I’ve given info to at least 8 people that have inquired about the trip. And we will be back for another BoatBikeTour!!!

Lovely boat, food great and plentiful, staff helpful. Rides good and varied. Good overnight stops. Guides helpful and did good city walks in evening. We recommend the trip. Minor complaint in that the actual rides seemed a little underprepared not quite sure if cafes open ( which they weren’t always) could have been more short stops. Make sure toilets at lunch time.But it was the first time this boat has done this route.

We had a fabulous time aboard the Princess Royal from Amsterdam to Cochem. Everything from the crew and guides to the food to the cabins was top notch. Our chef prepared delicious 3 course meals and a variety of snacks each day from a tiny kitchen with flair and passion. Our guides led us on enjoyable and relaxed tours. The captains and crew managed the barge, housekeeping, and the bikes with care, and our bartender kept everyone in good spirits. We would make 2 suggestions: 1. A group of 26 is difficult to manage. By the time the caboose catches up to the engine, the engineer is ready to go and the caboose hasn’t heard anything that may have been said or had a chance to rest. Some people prefer a different pace. Some always ended up at the rear and others were always at the front. We’d recommend splitting the group. 2. The trail to Berg Eltz was muddy, slippery, and dangerous for some. We left our bikes at the trailhead which meant one of the guides had to remain with them. People arrived and departed at different times because of hiking ability. Due to timing, we missed the English tour. It’s very difficult to know the conditions beforehand. We’d suggest arranging for the group to take the shuttle from Moselkern to avoid all these issues.

Wish our air conditioner worked in our cabin more than the 4 days it worked. When we boarded our room was 26.5 degrees and it took the crew 3 days to fix (not such a hardship under normal conditions but we had a few days at 30 degrees outside). The experienced guide was great. Ronald (new to the business) was just ok. Didn’t realize that a good part of 2 days of biking was going thru or beside very industrial sections of the Rhine. Overall the boat staff were very good, and the bar tender was exceptional!
