Our guide, Hugo, was very enthusiastic and made our experience very interesting. I have to say though: I don’t understand the cycling being rated a 1—I think it deserves a solid 2. After I found I needed an e-bike for two days, I was charged 40 Euros a day over what I had already paid for the standard bike and that seemed excessive. I also feel like some of the busy roads we had to navigate were a bit challenging and could have presented possible “problems” and the last five kilometers of the ride toward Aigues Mortes was simple excruciating! The food was terrific and everything else was great.

We recently completed a tour from Amsterdam to Bruges on the Magnifique IV. While most aspects of this tour met our expectations, some were disappointing. The ship itself was excellent and the majority of the crew was friendly and professional. The rental bikes were functional but showing the wear and tear of a long rental season. They were also obviously designed to be sturdy and maintenance free rather than easy to ride. (Even on the very flat terrain I was seldom able to use the top 4 gears out of the 7). Our lead tour guide, Frans, was excellent, but his assistant Corrine really needs more training. She at times seemed to be lost even with paper maps and Ride with GPS. By her own admission, she had no clue of how to change a flat, or any mechanical aspect of the bikes. Because she seemed to be under stress, she did not handle some interactions with the tour participants very well. While our ship was being captained by Walter, the shipowner, the interface between the ship operation and the tour was quite seamless, but when Walter left and was replaced by Captain Chris, it seemed like all coordination between the two went awry. While the food on board was generally excellent, it was quite evident that some things were “running out” and not being replenished toward the end of the week, because this was the last tour of the season. I would also have liked more variety in the offerings for our packed lunches (like peanut butter) and better packaging (stretch wrap or baggies) for the routine ham and cheese sandwiches. I would like to compliment their logistical flexibility in being able to pick us up on the side of the river when we we late arriving due to a train system malfunction. We were very thankful for that. Also, the way the two ship hostesses kept everything spotless on board while also serving food and drinks, was as good as any cruise we have ever been on. They (Laura and Joline) worked tirelessly and were always very pleasant and professional. Overall, I would travel with this company again, but maybe a little earlier in the season.

We were on the Metz to Cochem tour October 24th on the Magnifique III. It was the first time on a bike barge tour and we were not disappointed. The boat is beautiful inside and immaculate. The food was delicious and afternoon snacks were appreciated after a day of biking. The staff went overboard to make sure everything was perfect. We had the privilege of sailing with the owner of the company and the owners of the boat. A big thank you to them for providing such a great experience. The tour guides Corrie & Alv did a great job keeping everyone together and stopping at some interesting spots, To ride through the Mosel Wine Region was a highlight for us since we are big fans of the Riesling Wines. We can’t wait to take another bike tour:)

We very much enjoyed our barge and bike trip from Venice to Mantua. Sylvia, our guide was outstanding, very knowledgeable and knew many people along the route and included a number of “surprises” and unexpected visits. She kept the whole group engaged, 20 of us, quite a feat. The e-bikes were of high quality and made any distance easy to accomplish. The barge crew (2 cooks) and captain were also great and entertaining, the food was excellent. They all looked after us well. The scenery, small towns and stops were all very interesting, a part of Italy with lots of history (all 5 stars). The only negative is the barge itself which is dated, it needs refurbishing and was not up to the standard of the other Boat Bike trip we have taken.

The entire crew worked together to make this a memorable trip. The guides were knowledgeable and accommodating, the cabin was well kept with everything necessary for a comfortable stay, and the food was exceptionally tasty.

Stunning views with incredible food. This experience was wonderful. The crew made it as easy as the could and even changed the itinerary when weather didn’t cooperate. Our guides were friendly, fun and accommodating. We had guided tours and tastings along the way and everynight went back aboard our floating vacation home to enjoy beautiful food with wonderful people. The biking was so enjoyable even when the weather was cold or rainy because it really is that beautiful along Moselle. I highly recommend this trip. The only way to improve would be to keep doing everything as they have with lots of stops, excursions and info along the way. History and wine await!

The crew, tour leader, food, bikes, tours, biking, scenery and camaraderie were excellent.The beds were very comfortable, however the boat is old, tired, musty and moldy. The boat did not match up to the excellence of the rest of the tour. I would seek out another boat for this great vacation.

One of the Greatest ships of BoatBike. Great staff. Great rides on the beautiful Mosel River. Our 15th Boat & Bike tour was one of the very best. Only improvement could have been warm weather: we hit rain and a cold spell in late October, but still a great trip. Thanks to all. The Walkers from Texas

Great tour director!! The crew were friendly and helpful! The boat and rooms were clean. The itinerary beautiful! The food great and plenty! The bikes were kept in wonderful condition! Totally enjoyed this adventure!

The crew was wonderful; the guides and Goldy especially, as they were who we mainly interacted with. Everything was well-explained regarding our day’s ride and consideration was taken for the various levels of riders. The food was good, if a bit salty for my taste, but the coffee wasn’t very good. The cappuccino machine was broken and I know we were the last trip, so fixing it at that point didn’t make sense, but just saying. All in all, I loved my experience and would/will book another trip with you. Thanks!
