We both enjoyed our Boat Bike Tour on Magnifique IV very much. It probably helped that we had fantastic weather May 12-19 but there were many things we liked. Our room was comfortable, including beds and pillows. The food was excellent and ample. The shared coffee machines worked great. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, including our guides. The bikes were sturdy and worked well. Routes seemed to be well-planned for scenery and points of interest. Each of our daily rides was interesting. They were just long enough and included as many stops as we cared for. I opted for the “long” ride each day but there really was seldom much difference. At 69 and 70 years old but pretty active bikers we wondered how well our fellow passenger/bikers would do. Would it be too fast or too slow? No. We were neither the youngest nor oldest but fit right in and everyone did quite well. We wondered about how we’d do mingling with others. Everyone got along well and the trip was great fun!

Trip: 11-18 Jun 2022. Southern tour with De Amsterdam boat. Hotel manager is not cooperative to help us store our luggage till 2pm and instruct his team to unload our luggage onto the pier at 1.30pm. He is more concern to ensure things goes his way and is chasing us off the boat as soon as possible. I’ve been in boat and bike for 2 times before and only faced this experience on this trip. In 2 previous trips, we are allowed to store our luggage at the lounge area and this will not affect incoming passengers. We observed his face expressions to be annoyed when the tour guide asked for his help to photocopy the day agenda and he insisted the Boat and Bike tour guide has to pay for the service. All this in front of the us, the customers. Is the boat manager a team player or only care about the boat? On the good performance, the Indonesia and Turkish waiters are very polite and friendly. They provide us more soup when we requested it and they always serve with a smile. They also come and make small talks with us that we become like good friends and we throughly enjoy their company. The 3 tour guide is also great. We have a ebike battery problem and request change. The boat team just ignore us and one of us has to paddle without ebike power for 2 days. When we inform Tom, he immediately take action and instruct that he give up his ebike for us. Observation on the last day briefing, both boat captain and boat manager complimented each other very much but the 3 boat and bike guide was not given opportunity to address the audience. After the captain dismiss us on the farewell briefing, Marielle our tour guide has to take the microphone from the captain to thank the audience for support and welcome us to more experience with other boat and bike tours. We will come back for boat and bike experience in other boats but not with de Amsterdam.

Would like more space to sit and visit We did enjoy a bit of cruising time that we had one afternoon Extra noted things to see while riding added a lot to the trip. Very well organised. The boat Swiss Crown is comfortable, and the catering was exceptional. Very solicitous staff. Jurgen was the team leader for the biking – good info but sometimes not terribly precise in English; best he uses photos to show turns on paths, etc. a few rainy days was not the tour’s fault, was good despite that!

Hi, Here are my main comments: 1. The rides were short and dull, a part from the Heidelberg day 2. Route information is poor, many of us lost our ways 3. Prices od consumptions on the boat were too high

We are a 70 year old couple in functional condition so we enjoy active travel. The Boat Bike trip from Amsterdam to Brugge was GREAT! We have done other similar trips through the years but this one was giant steps above. The Fluvius boat is a charming and comfortable converted barge with a pleasant set up and roof deck for nice weather times. The only short coming of the boat was a need for ventilation in the compact cabins. The crew was personable and always helpful. We enjoyed each member and appreciated the hard work they all put in to make everything nice on our floating home for a week. The Captain was warm, generous and proud of his ship. Now, about the cycling guides. Arnold and Maria-Jose are a power couple that have chosen this life after full careers in other fields. They come to this calling with life experience and their passion clearly shows! They were at once energizing, attentive to the route, safety and the needs of our cycling group of over 20 adults. The rest stops they have curated are local, rich, and charming. I could gush on about this couple and the collective talents they displayed. Five stars falls short of how much we enjoyed being with them. We wish them all the best they deserve.

We just finished a week on De Amsterdam exploring southern Holland, and we already wish to return. Everything about the tour was wonderful. We loved the itinerary, the ship was everything we had hoped for and sparkling clean, and the provided maps and Ride With GPS gave us confidence in navigating our way around. Our guides Carla, Marielle, and Tom answered all of our questions patiently and thoroughly, and cared that our trip was successful and fun. The first day of biking there was a terrible storm forecast, but the itinerary was adjusted so that everyone could at least get out for the short route, which was appreciated, as the day was not entirely lost. The first night our air conditioner didn’t cool our room, but we asked to have it looked at, and when we returned later in the day, it worked perfectly, and there were no further issues with it. We found that Boat Bike Tours delivered everything that was promised, and that was a huge relief as we booked this tour in 2019 for 2020 travel, and could not take the tour until 2022 because of COVID.

As with past Boat Bike Tours I’ve taken, this one was a good value, well-organized, and had competent, friendly staff. Our weather was very cooperative, but I still had a very good time. Stories told by the guides of history and legend were exceptional. Facilities were good, if looking a bit worn in the cabins.

This is a splendid way to travel! Boat Bike Tours contracts with a lovely barges, we were on The Fleur, with a great captain and crew, and I thoroughly enjoyed our knowledgeable guides. This was the first time for this route, so we were all having a new adventure together which was fun. I had a medical mishap and everyone was great in assuring I was well taken care of.
