We recently sailed on the Zwaantje from Paris to Auxerre. Everything about the trip was superb especially the staff. Cycle leaders Andre and Marcel were amazing especially when we were experiencing some physical challenges. Frank was an awesome chef. The meals were better than we could have hoped. Lots of variety and creativity. Being g vegetarian was accommodated well. The owner Martin was so professional yet approachable and fun. Karen was an all around charming hostess who looked after our every need. The only concern was the small size of the cabins if you were really tall. Otherwise we had a blast. Our private cycling group has rented the whole boat for many trips with this company and loved them all.

On our trip from Amsterdam to Bruge we were treated to an amazing crew and sightseeing. The crew of the Magnifique IV were always friendly and ready tohelp in any way they could. Our bike guides were knowledgeable and also very friendly. They often pointed out interesting sites and the stories behind them. A trip of a lifetime.

Absolutely great holiday on board a very comfortable sailing vessel with daily cycle rides through the Frisian landscape, visiting villages and small towns. Great mix of cycling and boat travel, where possible under sail, and culture with opportunities to visit museums and galleries. Comfortable accommodation and good meals provided on board. Highly recommended.

Our trip from Berlin to Stralsund was really good. The food was excellent. Not one bad meal. The service on board wonderful. However, we feel there needs to be a re-design of the route booklet we followed each day. The street names are not marked on the map itself. Instead they are on an adjacent page written out longhand, which is impossible to follow while biking. Perhaps a side by side design with map on one side and written directions with street names on the other , or street names written boldly on the map. There were many of us along the way on the path considering which way to go. Better would be downloadable bike routes via Google Maps and a spot on the handle bars for a phone. I think the paper map stuck in a pouch under plastic that has to have its pages turned in route is obsolete. No one travels anymore using a paper map. I can see having it as backup in case there is no gps service, but I would have enjoyed the trip so much more had I had a better way to know the path. Some of the paths we were on seemed very rugged and not well maintained. Also, the Princess is an older ship and the rooms have windows that don’t open, and the rooms are a bit stinky of mildew. Our room was above a tank of sorts, so we had sewage smell in our room for days in addition to the mildew smell. The staff worked to help mask it with sprays and other techniques. I won’t travel on an older ship again.

Our BBT experience was wonderful. We bicycled through Belgium and the Netherlands and ate and slept on the boat that accompanied us. Everything about the trip was top notch from the food, accommodations, guides, ship crew and bicycles. The tour was definitely top value for money spent.

The rad-reisen group ran the bike portion. The amenities, service and food were all wonderful. Everything was well organized and delivered flawlessly. Staff cared and consequently the overall experience was very enjoyable. We plan to book another trip down the road. The ship was a bit dated for sure but you hop on board, enjoy the cruise and biking and soak in the great service.

Wonderful cycling trip from Bruges to Paris 14 days of glorious weather and cycling. Small group of 20 cyclists which was great to get to know everyone. Frank (the chef) created wonderful dinners every night! The Swaantje had a great crew and a lovely upper sun deck nice for yoga in the morning and a drink after cycling. The crew on this barge were wonderful. We had two great guides Weiger and Andrew who made all the difference to our daily trips. I look forward to sailing with BoatBike Tours again next July 2023!

The Bruges to Paris trip on the Zwaantje is far and away the very best of the 10 or so tours we have taken with Boat Bike Tours. Two weeks, about 30 miles/day for 13 days. Every aspect was spectacular: first of all, the food was nearly Michelin quality. Really! Second, the boat and crew were the friendliest and most efficient ever. The boat itself immaculate, very comfortable and modern. The guides the best in the world: 3 languages, knowledge of local history, patient and good natured, and funny too. All in all, the Zwaantje and the 400 miles of great scenery, history, fun riding were the best, right down to the last riding day on Friday in a triumphant “Pelaton” of average say twenty, 65 year old bicyclists riding into Paris and under the Eiffel Tower and along the Seine.
