My Boat Bike Tour in August was fantastic and I commend everyone involved on the boat from kitchen staff, captain, engineer and most of all Michaela our guide was amazing. My only criticism was the difficulty we endured whilst booking from Australia- it was not an easy process and our Australian Travel Agent was unable to book for us.

Very enjoyable–Very good guide– very good food–good bikes, but took some time to get used to only five gears.

The value is definitely there when you compare to the bigger river cruises. No butlers, no huge food selection, entertainment-well????, you manage your own bags BUT you don’t pay for those things either. Food was fine- (especially breakfast) you’re off the boat to experience local cuisine often as well. No WIFI. I think they need to fix that. The room (the large with the patio door) was fabulous and worth the $$ upgrade. Personally I would not have been comfortable in the lower level. The staff was FANTASTIC and I always felt very safe and noticed. If you’re cruising and not biking( because if an injury) they’re not quite used to having you on board during the day so that took a bit of …. I didn’t bike but the friends that did LOVED the experience and the efficient manner everyday was handled.

We did a Boat Bike Tour on the Moselle 2 years ago and had a great experience, so we were excited to go on another trip. This time from Passau to Vienna. We were informed 3 days before leaving for the trip that our boat was damaged and would not be available for our trip. We were offered a land based (hotel) bike trip which we accepted. We were disappointed with the service provided. We, and many of our fellow travelers, felt like we were dumped into the hands of the group running the hotel based bike trip, whose employees were not very helpful. The initial briefing was short and not informative. It would have been helpful if a representative from Boat Bike Tours or SE Tours would have been present to answer questions and make sure that everything was in order. The biking was fine, the hotels were generally good but the meals were not as good as we had previously. Although we did get to know some of our fellow travelers, it was not the same level of camaraderie that we had found on the boat. We stayed at different hotels on several nights so it made it harder to get to know one another. Packing up our suitcases every morning and checking into a new hotel each night was a hassle. The bus transfers were very inconvenient and time consuming. We very much missed our daily briefings on the boat to inform us of the route, suggestions of what to see and perhaps where to stop and explore. I feel we missed a lot along the bike path by not having those briefings. But the route and the biking were good. We had such a good experience 2 years ago on the Patria and told many of our friends about Boat Bike Tours, but after this trip, we are more reserved with our recommendations.

Two days before we were ticketed to leave US for the boat bike tour it was cancelled. They refunded our money but there was nothing we could do about the airline tickets.

We have been on several boat bike tours. This one was one of the best–excellent–great food, comfortable boat, very nice staff. We met some wonderful people who are now friends we’ll see in the future.

Ship was average in accommodation cabins. Food was below standard. Tour guide was very rude to guests and crew. Stops were well planned..information to find your way around in English, was very poor…lost many times

We booked the Bruges – Amsterdam tour on the Magnifique III and everything was excellent. The crew was fantastic and provided attentive service and hospitality. The food was excellent and the lodging on the ship beautiful. Our guides were knowledgeable, entertaining and what I liked best, was they never made you feel like you “should” do anything you didn’t want too, like cycle longer if you wanted to retire to the ship for an afternoon. There were some glitches with their email system before our trip but they were minor in comparison to the great experience we had on the tour.
