A really super way to experience the scenery and culture of another country. We had the benefit of cycling in the country air, rather than being cooped up in a touring vehicle, yet able to control our speed and effort with the benefit of electric bikes. The accommodation in the cabin suite was good and the breakfast and dinner choices were very good and beautifully cooked. You also get to pack your own lunch from the breakfast bar to enjoy at a stopover of your choice. A briefing every night on the next day’s trip minimised the chances of getting lost and gave information on places of interest to stop at. Our day off from cycling to explore Vienna and an evening classical concert with transport to and from the boat, was an added bonus. We would definitely recommend and will be looking to do another trip in the future.

Overall we had a great time. The boat was well appointed and the rooms very comfy. The food was excellent and the service was great. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The rides were well chosen and organised. There were a few issues though : Our toilet/shower smelt somewhat until the cleaner gave it a good clean. The maps and instructions provided were a bit vague sometimes On the top deck it would be sensible to provide a designated area for smokers at the back so that non-smokers could enjoy a smoke free environment

The guide was great. The staff was great. The food was great. The boat stunk of diesel fuel, but fortunately we were off and about seeing the beauty of the Netherlands.

This was our second experience with Boat Bike Tours. A trip on the Fluvius from Bruges to Amsterdam made us eager to sail with this company again. We were expecting a nice trip on the Leafde fan Fryslan, sailing and biking along the coast of the Ijsselmeer. What we experienced was an amazing week with a wonderful crew, a beautiful ship and friendly guests. The beautiful online photos accurately depict this ship. The captain, Floris, was attentive to all our needs, as was the entire crew, Annie, Yorick, Ruben, and guide Paulette. The weather was unusually hot for the Netherlands, necessitating changes in the biking and sailing routes. Floris used his ingenuity and expertise to assure that we were all comfortable and well cared for. The guests’ standing ovation for the crew at our last meal says it all! This was among the best vacations we have ever had.

Everything about our Boat Bike tour was wonderful – except the heat which is beyond anyone’s control! Steph and Evert have done an exceptional job covering every detail and still making everyone feel they are part of a big family. The rooms were a decent size and the staff was top notch. We are really missing the water and coffee machines! The food was delicious and the chef, Camillo, was perfect in his abilities and his humility. I am so glad I recorded some of his presentations. Our guides were very knowledgeable and aware of everyone’s abilities while being comfortable and easy to talk to. We highly recommend the Fleur!

Great biking holiday. Only moderately strenuous. Boat crew and guides were excellent. Barge was clean and comfortable. Food was great. Only issue was initially locating the boat. Might need to work on that aspect.
