This was one of my favorite vacations so far. Our guide and the staff on the Magnifique were fantastic, cycling routes were beautiful, fellow cyclists were lots of fun, stops and places visited were interesting and lovely, and the food was great! I definitely recommend this trip to anyone who enjoys cycling and has an adventurous spirit!!

We thoroughly loved the time spent on our Bike and Boat tour of the Provence and Camargue in southern France. The barge Crew were wonderfully accomodating to our every need and request with efficiency and a smile. In a similar fashion, the bike tour Leader lead us safely through the winding city and country roads at an appropriate pace, with adequate stops, also with an eternal smile on her face. Excellent value for money! Want some advice if you haven’t riden for a few years? I’d recommend adequate cycling preparation of at least one to two hours riding twice a week for several weeks prior to your trip. It will make it far more enjoyable for you and the group.

We loved our Southern tour of the Nederlands! As long as you enjoy riding a bike and you don’t expect a king sized bed, this is a fantastic way to get to know a new country up close. The crew of the Angela Esmee were welcoming, provided wonderful meals, kept our bikes in tip-top shape, and provided all the info and maps needed for us to explore the region by bike. Our tour guide (thanks Henk!) stepped up to find great alternatives when rainy weather called for last minute itineray and route improvisations. We were so pleased and are already considering our next destination with Boat Bike Tours.

We travelled with two other couples from Amsterdam to Bruges in early June 2017. First of all the boat was top notch enhanced by the wonderful staff who could not do more for us. The biking was interesting, mostly flat and we only had one day where we had to contend with a stiff wind off the North Sea. Our guide Tom was very laid back but able to step up when required. The meals were fantastic (even our packed lunches). My only quibble was that a group of twenty was booked on our trip which did cut down a bit on the diversity of the guests. They were nice folks but did tend to dominate the direction of the group. We would definitely book another adventure with Boat Bike Tours. They offer great value for the price.

We recently boarded the Fluvius in Bruges and boat/biked to Amsterdam. This trip exceeded all our expectations! We were very pleased to discover that all the cabins have an ensuite bathroom and everything is kept pristinely clean! The whole staff from captain/s to waitresses/ housekeepers worked as a harmonious team and did absolutely everything to make us happy and relaxed, nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Our bike guide Sjak was extremely knowledgeable and always ready to look after us, together with his side kick the lovely sweeper Iris! The rides were amazingly well organised, the bikes in tip top condition. The cook/handyman/machinist amazed us with his culinary skills of producing delicious 4 course very varied tasteful meals. Bubbly Nadja surprised us with her elephant making, Alexandra looked even more beautiful when she smiled and Mariana was always sweet and helpful. The crew were all very helpful. The distances and the time available to complete them mean you have to bike steadily at about 16-20 km/h. Electric assist bikes are available for an additional charge. Bring padded bike shorts unless you are a well-seasoned rider; 5-6 hours on a bike seat can be a bit tough. Otherwise, the food was quite good. I have a food allergy and they were very accommodating. However, I did have to pay an extra €50 for the week so they could buy milk-free food that I could eat. Highly recommend this trip.

Crew was outstanding, and extremely helpful with our non-standard tandem. Lots of fun to watch everybody (deck hands, maids, wait staff, cook, pianist, and even the captain!) pitching in to help get all the bikes on and off the boat. It looks like everyone truly enjoys their jobs. We had a great trip and would do it again.

We booked our trip on the recommendation of friends who did a tour last year. We had an incredible experience and have already recommended the tour to other friends. It is the best way to see parts of the world that you would ordinarily never see. We are looking at doing another tour next year!

This trip was fabulous from start to finish. The Magnifique is the perfect size (just 30 guests), comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The captain and every crew member was warm, welcoming, and fun. Our guide was patient, super helpful, and supportive of those who wanted to go off and self guide. Who can’t love biking on flat bike paths across beautiful country and visiting quaint little villages and businesses along the way. As far as I’m concerned, this was a 10/10 experience. Do it.
