The Epernay to Paris trip was wonderful. There is no better way to see the french countryside then by bicycle and boat. The staff and our guide Marianne were exceptional. This is the best vacation, the most interesting trip and the most fun in memory. We’ll be back next year for another trip with BoatBike Tours. Travel tip: If you don’t like to ride bikes up hills, rent one of their e-bikes; it made all the difference for Sandy and Jenny.

The experience starts with the e-mails with the folks at boatbike. Responses were quick and they were helpful in fulfilling our requests. The trip itself was “UNBELIEVABLE”. The boat “ROMANTICA” is well laid out and our room on the main deck was spacious. The crew and the guides were all friendly / professional. The language was never an issue. The biking on each island was superb and everyone in the group managed the arduous climbs. The only one concern I discussed with some members was the day some of us completed a rafting trip the rest continued biking. Some felt this could have been better explained as this was the second to last day and wear and tear was setting in. They would have chosen the raft trip. Once again the guides were super; the food abundant and delicious. Will do another boatbike in the future.

Our bike & boat trip on the Danube River on the MV Normandie exceeded all of our expectations. We have taken previous bike & boat tours in The Netherlands and in Italy, and we have enjoyed each one. The Normandie is a very nice ship with a charming crew. The cabins were spacious, up-to-date and clean. The food was excellent, equivalent to what you would get in a high-end restaurant. The chef kindly prepared vegetarian and gluten-free dishes for us each night for dinner, and we were impressed with his creativity and attention to detail. The bike rides and other optional outings were very well organized by our very personable and funny cruise director. Our tour went from Passau to Budapest, and it’s a tour I could imagine doing again, or certainly I would take other similar tours offered by Boat Bike Tours.

Excellent holiday. Enjoyed both the sailing and the biking. Could have done with more wind on the sailing day and less on the biking day, but nature does it’s own thing. The ship was comfortable, the food was good, and the crew were friendly. The self guided bike routes were well explained thanks to the excellent Dutch numbering system, with both long and short alternatives to suit rider abilities. The rental bikes were quite heavy, but since there are no hills in Holland this didn’t matter! Monickendam, Edam, Hoorne and Endhuizen are all lovely towns/cities to explore. Even cycling out of Amsterdam is ok as it’s all off road.Cycling through the Frisian woods was lovely, even though it rained!

June17-24 Amsterdam to Bruges aboard the Magnifique Christina and I throughly enjoyed this trip. It far exceeded our expectations. The boat and all the crew were exceptional and our guide (Gjysbert?) was amazing keeping us cool during the heat wave. I would recommend this tour without any reservations and we are in fact looking through the 2018 brochure planning our next trip. Christina and Dave

We did the Holland Southern Tour aboard the Anna Maria Agnes and had a wonderful time. We were very fortunate weather-wise and were lucky enough to meet some wonderful, wonderful people in our smallish group of English-speakers. The balance of the guests were German-speakers and they were very nice, as well. We all waved to each other as we passed each other during the day. While we would go again in an instant there were 2 things did detract from the trip. One was the lack of water provided. We were advised against drinking the ship’s tap water yet were given only 1/2 liter of water per day. Extra 1/2 bottles of water aboard ship cost 2.5 Euro! That meant we soon learned to search out supermarkets where 1.5 liters was 0.49 Euro. If water is at a premium I suggest the ship charge a blanket fee (10 Euro/pp? ) for water for the week. The other issue was the rental bikes are quite heavy with back-peddle brakes. Our groups repeatedly cursed those brakes! It actually was a bit of a safety issue. Unintentionally hitting the brake while trying to navigate in traffic was not fun. I suggest the ship offer rental of hybrid bikes, or similar, for a premium much like the e-bikes are available. Again, I highly recommend the trip, just some suggestion to make it even more enjoyable!
