Barge was very comfortable, staff very friendly and professional. Meet some wonderful people and had a great time

Great guides on our trip! As a solo traveler, I felt taken care of and respected and included in all activities. My skill set for the 15% grade rides was not sufficient, but no judgement from staff. I was able to feel comfortable choosing rides that were my level and felt a part of the group the entire trip. Swimming off the back of the boat, evening dinners, meeting people from all over the world, it was a great trip.

The chef provided excellent meals! Our bike guide was very knowledgeable and made each ride fun!

We had a wonderful time on the Arkona. The boat was very nice and comfortable. The staff were friendly and professional and the food was varied, plentiful and tasty. Being able to make lunch from the buffet breakfast was a big plus. The itinerary was excellent along the Rhine and Moselle. The scenery was quite spectacular and there was so much to see. The weather also was very good to us which made the trip even better. The criticism that I did have was the fact that there was no water on the tables at dinner time. You had to pay quite a cost to have it. I have never come across that before. Also we contemplated purchasing the drinks package but after inquiring what it included we decided not to. It really was not worth it. Its inclusions were very restrictive. We like a drink and thank goodness. Our drinks bill at the end of the week was half what the package would have cost. Overall though we enjoyed our barge and bike week. We met many lovely people. It is the second one we have done. Would we do another one? Not sure.

The staff were first rate. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. My E-bike was excellent. Unfortunately, the dinners could have been better. They needed more protein, vegetables and greens. This was my second trip with your company.

We did the Cochem to Metz trip. Overall, it was excellent. The 5 person crew on the boat was fantastic–thorough, friendly and appropriately professional. And the boat itself (the Princess Royal) was very cool. Not too fancy, but comfortable, with nice seating inside and out. And it’s very cool looking vessel. The chef was very nice and the food was very good; not 5 star quality, but better than I was expecting. Lots of options at breakfast, and nice to have the option to pack a lunch with the meats and cheeses available in the morning. Sleeping quarters were small but adequate. You would not want to spend a lot of time in your quarters, but the beds were very comfortable. My roommate and I took shifts to get ready in the morning (shower, etc) to give each other more space, and that worked well.
Bike riding portion of the trip was super fun. Paved trails for the vast majority of the time, just a little bit of riding with traffic in the villages. Our bike guide was very good, gave a few history lessons along the way. We rode with the group on the first day, but then she was fine letting us go ahead on our own at a faster pace.
The scenery is really what made this trip special for me (and the beer). The villages you see and experience as you ride along the Mosel are truly unique and, for me, quite unexpected. Each village had its own castle and church or cathedral, usually dating back to the middle ages. Being surrounded by Reisling vineyards during our rides was very cool, and the wine and Cremant tastings were a lot of fun. Ending the trip in Metz was great. I’d never heard of Metz but it’s a great little city. Sort of a little Paris. Very striking architecture and lots of good food.

My only three “critical” comments:
1. Get water bottle cages for the bikes!
2. Offer bottled water on the boat
3. We had a gnats in our bathroom. Didn’t bother us too much, but my wife would’ve freaked out.

Our tour guides Ronald and Corrie were wonderful. Packed with lots to see during our bike ride. The Magnifique I exceeded our expectations. Our Chef, Alv, was over the top great chef. Very healthy food and creative. The staff was warm and friendly. Highly recommended this trip thru Germany, Luxembourg and France.

The whole Bike Boat Tour was a positive experience for us. We were on the Magnifique III, it was a beautiful ship. The cabins, dining area, and lounge were all amazing. The staff were kind and wonderful. The bikes were comfortable, and the routes were full of beautiful scenery. The tour guides were flexible when members of our group wanted to separate and ride on their own. I would definitely not only recommend experience, but plan to do it again!

The trip was well organized by the two very personable guides. Their daily briefing was helpful. We loved the food and thought it exceptional. The rides were well planned and just the right distances. My only real complaint was the size of closet space and rooms could be bigger. Have fewer and charge a little more. On our last trip on Magnifique III we had a larger room and I don’t recall closet space so tiny.
