Loved the riding and scenery. I personally found the navigation a challenge at times due to only speaking English.

Great experience. The Swiss Crown is a beautiful boat. The crew and staff provided excellent service, and exceeded our expectations. Staff handling the excursions and daily schedule fell below expectations. Friendly but did not provide clear directions and details

The crew was friendly helpful. Rooms clean. We were 30 members of our family. For the early birds it would have been nice to share a coffee in the lobby without waking to ones like to sleep in.

We had an excellent time on board the Swiss Crown on our Danube boat/bike trip. The facilities were in excellent shape and the staff were super friendly. The food was top notch from breakfast, the items available for packed lunch, through to the 4 course dinners. Each of the cycling routes were well laid out and met our expectations for experience and difficulty. We were disappointed that we were unable to make it all the way to the Iron Gorge but realize that the weather will dictate certain aspects of any trip. A couple of recommendations: 1. The guide book was printed in both German and English. I think it would be best if these were separate books, one in German and one in English. This would reduce the amount of paper that each traveler would use and more importantly would provide for a smaller book and easier to find each of the relevant routes. 2. It would be nice if there was another drink package option. We did not participate as my wife drinks very little so it would not have been worthwhile for the convenience for me to order whenever I wanted. Unfortunately I do not have a suggestion for you and realize the challenge related to having one person in a cabin with the drink package and one without. 3. With pretty much everyone wanting/needing access to wifi, ubiquitous wifi throughout the boat and for the entire excursion really should be a basic service on the boat. We did encounter an unfortunate incident with the toilets on our row of cabins and as luck would have it, we seemed to be the most impacted by the issue. While the crew did everything they could to resolve the issue as quickly and effectively as possible, we were left with a lingering odor in our cabin for the last three days of the trip. We felt that the management on board could have been more proactive in making up for the inconvenience we experienced. If it wasn’t for this we would have provided a 5 star rating.

I could not fault our experience on the Swiss Crown. Our cabin on the middle level was comfortable, food was excellent, the staff very friendly and efficient, nothing too much trouble. We were disappointed that we did not get to the Iron Gates due to weather conditions and apparently that is not uncommon. We enjoyed the cycle riding although a lot of the time there was not a lot to see apart from trees and grass. The last day was by far the best riding through picturesque villages and vineyards with lots to see. But unfortunately it was a day when we would have liked more time as we had to be back on the boat by 3pm. Also the ride briefing was in the morning rather than the night before so we could not leave straight after breakfast. Other days we had longer time on less interesting rides. However we did enjoy the whole experience but would not choose to do that particular route again. There was a lot more riding on roads (sometimes busy) than we were expecting.

We were thrilled with this cruise! The staff were all cheerful, helpful and wonderful; the food delicious; rooms clean and well prepared; and the itineraries lots of fun. This is our 19th cruise, but only the second River Cruise. We plan to do lots more! Thanks for a great time!

The staff on the Swiss Crown were incredible! The wait staff, room attendants, front desk folk, all exhibited the highest level of professionalism, all while being friendly and helpful. Anything we needed was promptly provided. The accommodations were wonderfully comfortable. We were surprised at the high level of quality of the bicycles as well. Everything functioned perfectly. The daily mileage, something that steers me away from most tours, was easily attainable, Now, if they could have changed the weather… It would have helped those of us non-German speakers if our cruise director spoke better English, the shoe, for once, was on the other foot! I always felt a little cheated that the Germans got a longer and seemingly more entertaining briefing. But our cruise director was fun and enthusiastic nonetheless. He could use a good assistant, he was running ragged for half the tour. The deboarding process could use better organization, things broke down during deboarding. An attempt was made to board taxis by room number but the first group could not be located and things got chaotic after that. Perhaps a bus assigned to take a group to the train station? A strong organizing hand would have helped. We had the best time! I had never experienced anything of that level of “swank” and I felt like royalty. I could have happily spent the rest of the summer with them.

Wonderful ship, food, and service. The itinerary was perfect.
