We had a great experience on the Hansa Highlights bike tour. Can’t say enough good things about the whole trip and have referred several friends to this company already! We really like the simplicity of this type of trip where everything is planned and you have a floating hotel where you sleep every night. We chose this boat (De Nassau) because it had operable windows in all rooms. The staff on the boat was so friendly and helpful, they really made us feel welcome and provided “over the top” service the whole time. The bike tour was great too, as was our tour leader Olga. Having the GPS app guide us through the country was great and simple (for the most part…;-)). The Dutch countryside and waterways are beautiful to ride through. Lots of interesting, historic towns on the route. If you haven’t ridden a bike in the Netherlands, you will be amazed at the extensive network of bike paths Everywhere! It’s unbelievable even through some fields between towns! Wish we had it in the US. Most of the time you’ll ride on a dedicated bike path and at times on a smaller road with cars and a bike path. When you exit and enter towns, especially Amsterdam, there will be interaction with road crossings and bikes zipping around you so you have to be ready for that too, but you get accustomed to it. The food was very good and you pack your lunch to take each day on your ride. Overall we thought the trip was very well organized and great fun and a great value. We met lots of nice folks on the trip too from Holland, Canada, Germany and the US. We’d definitely do a trip with Boat Bike Tours again! A couple tips we’d make is to bring a rear view mirror and don’t forget your padded bike shorts!

Nice to unpack only once for 8 days. Boat, staff, guides, tours and bicycles were all great. Barbecue evening was very fun.

Every day we rode through amazing landscapes and every evening came back to the boat for a great meal and a chance to share our experiences with other guests and the crew. The boat felt like a great home away from home, very comfortable, clean and organized the food was plentiful and yummy We loved the fact that we were able to see so much of the country from a different Vantage point, back roads farm fields, small communities And cities, we saw it all. We also really appreciated that we could ride by ourselves or ride in small groups. That was something we could decide on a daily basis. We had all the information get to our daily destination. Once when we got a little lost, we were able to connect with our tour leader and get back to the boat! We would definitely consider doing another boat and bike tour and have recommended boat and bike tours to our friends at home. Even though we do ride bikes at home pretty regularly. I would recommend choosing an E bike for comfort. One suggestion I might have is to establish a WhatsApp call board or WhatsApp connection with everybody at the beginning of the trip so that it’s easy to reach out to people if there’s any changes, for example if the boat is docking at a different location.

Guides and all the staff were great. Barge was beautiful! Biking was on well maintained bikes and in interesting areas!

The bicycling is fantastic, the rooms on the De Holland are very nice. Breakfasts were good, lunch was repetitive, lack of fruit, dinners were mostly good. Electric bicycles were great, crew was great. The GPS needs to have waypoints shown on the app. Written daily route instructions could be much more clearly presented. Overall great experience.

This trip was exceptional with outstanding guides, crew, and participants. The itinerary was challenging but very doable – the right mix of biking, breaks, swimming, tours, and rest. I definitely recommend e-bikes although our 34 year old daughter appreciated the regular bike. We loved the Magellan – so comfortable. The berths and bathrooms comfy and clean. Sometimes the below deck rooms got too hot but showers helped us cool down. Captain Ivan and sailors Hari and Frane made smooth trips. Anchoring for swim stops most welcome in the heat. Chef Bojan and soups-chef Vera went out of their way to accommodate my vegan eating. I so appreciate their efforts and it was delicious. Žuži and Zdrxvko (sorry for bad spelling) took good care of our food and drink needs. Our guides: Srdan and Luka were very protective of us. They always started a ride with clear expectations and directions. No one was left behind. We learned about areas where we traveled – culture and nature. One of our group injured her hand and they were professional and effective in getting her the needed treatment. That was so important for all of us. They are also lots of fun with good experiences of local food and drink. The group was terrific with many making new friends and sharing experiences with each other. No downsides to this group at all.

Oh my goodness, All the team at this boat & bike trip were great, friendly and , professional at their job : Cedric, Antonio , Captain and professional chef ,they provide the best services and food we have ever had , We are very well experienced travellers , we really enjoyed our guided trip with this team

Overall Comments The scenery was amazing, our junior suite very nice. However, we didn’t have air conditioning for two days, so the great crew improvised with a portable system. On the evening we were getting packed up to go home, the plumbing system backed up and our room was flooded. The bikes were in great shape. The food amazing. The captain and entire crew were gracious and kind. I’d like to suggest to the bike ride leaders, that on the first night they find out who has never ridden before. I sustained a very bad fall – due to the fact that people weren’t calling out “stop” “slowing”,”turning”, etc. With 16 bikes in a row, you just can’t anticipate what is going on. Maybe the less skilled riders could go with one leader for first couple of days until they learn the etiquette of riding.

My husband and I had the most fabulous time on our boat and bike trip from Metz to Cochem . Our guide Erna was simply the best- informative, patient , thoughtful and fun-loving. We also had two great hostesses who always greeted us with a special afternoon treat. And seeing the grapes on the vine as we biked our way up the Moselle was truly a sight to behold.
