This was an ideal vacation for us.
7 days was not so long that monotony set in, or so short that we longed for more.
The ship was top-notch. Extremely well maintained. Free espresso/cappuccino machine! Nice cabins, well-appointed. Comfortable beds. Reasonably priced beer on tap.
Excellent food.
Right-sized passenger complement (34): neither too large that you felt you were assaulting your port calls, nor too small that you felt trapped with uninteresting people.
Happy crew seemed pleased to be where they were, doing what they were doing.
Bike rides through beautiful countryside, historic towns.
Well-maintained bikes.
It’s unusual for me not to find something to complain about, which speaks to the overall excellence of this experience. I would recommend the same tour to virtually anyone.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable week cycling from Amsterdam to Bruges.
The boat was really comfortable and clean. We paid extra for the upper deck cabin, and it was worth it. The food was excellent, although the quantities were erring on the side of too much.
The basic organisation was very good. I particulalry liked the navigation app that helped us keep on track. The guide was very attentive to everyone’s needs, but was not always clear on some details, which caused a little confusion at times.
I would certainly do another holiday with them.

The whole crew could not have been lovelier or more helpful! Beautiful scenery, great weather and wonderful food!! We biked Metz to Cochem June 17 and had the best time!! Only 32 guests meant we all got to know each other and had lots of fun!! Can’t wait for our next trip!!

We were on the Flying Dutchman on the Scotland trip of the Inner Hebrides. We absolutely loved: the biking, tours, scenery, extra activities, and guides. Scotland is beautiful and the food was excellent. The reason that this is not a 5 star review is that we found the accommodations on the Flying Dutchman to be quite tight (the pictures of the cabins are accurate) – bunkbeds, bathroom, tight space requiring some agility to navigate. We considered this as part of the adventure!

Of course, it is difficult to compare an upper deck suite on board the Magnifique II with the cabins on board the Flying Dutchman as they reside in very different categories within our fleet. One being a deluxe category barge, and the other a classic sailing vessel. With the pictures provided online, we try to convey a very honest impression of the cabins and public areas on each specific boat as these can vary greatly; each with their own charm and target group. We are sorry to hear that in this case the accommodation did not live up to your expectations. I would strongly suggest that more guides be employed for our size group. Two guides for 34 riders is totally inadequate. Asking a paying customer to volunteer to “ride sweep” is irresponsible and borderline dangerous. I rode sweep on two days, one of them without even a radio to alert the guide if there were any issues (there were). Why should paying customers be asked to help staff a ride that they are paying for? Also, guides should be more forthcoming with local history and culture during the rides as they are taking place. This is not possible if there are only two guides, spread out over 34 riders.

Crew was great and the northern Netherlands landscape was incredibly beautiful. Good food and nice people as shipmates. Liked the laid back attitudes and professional attitudes of the crew. I left my raincoat at a local restaurant and ship hostess volunteered to find it and send it back to me in the states.
