Our experience certainly met our expectations. The guides were engaging and competent, the amenities were comfortable and more than adequate, and the bicycles were perfect for the daily treks. Overall, a great experience

Boat Bike Tours is a fantastic company for exploring Belgium and the Netherlands by bike and boat. The crew is welcoming, with great hospitality, and the bike guides are knowledgeable and helpful. Accommodations are comfortable, and the food is enjoyable. However, evening entertainment could be improved for a more well-rounded experience. A great choice overall!

I was on the Wadden Sea tour. Captain Marvin, Anamay (sp), Jonathan, and the chef were exceptional. They made sure our tour experience was stress free and relaxing. We did experience rain and hearty wind factors that changed our course schedule but they made sure we still enjoyed the tour.
Definitely download the GPS app and pack clothes you can layer. The wind was a huge force to encounter so I would definitely recommend the ebike.
The ship was exactly as advertised and very clean. No one experienced sea sickness and the movement of the sails was beautiful.
Holland is a country made for bike paths and we experienced all types of pavement. Well kept and mostly away from traffic. Easily navigated and fun to explore. The people of Holland are very kind and helpful when you happen to take a wrong turn! I would definitely recommend this tour to people of all ages.

The experience was terrific. The boat, the staff, the scenery and the bikes!

Well everyone aboard the boat was fabulous and it’s the staff I’m referring to on that. Of course there were a great guests to make it a dynamic week. Really appreciated the rooms looking so great every afternoon we got in from hours of peddling. I really like the local history that the tour guide gave us to keep us informed and interested in the people places and things. Food was fabulous and the one suggestion I make around that would be to make a more local dinner for example – a Flemish dish. I appreciated having some time with the captain and seeing how the boat works along the canals. Having the bikes all labeled and ready was fabulous and just looking after us in that regard with the equipment we really appreciate it. I know it’s standing weak. Just loved the dance party !!

A very unique experience. Maybe more like 3 1/2 stars…hopefully the bugs will be worked out.
1. BIKE BOAT TOUR
Unfortunately, it was very clear that not enough preparation was in place for a safe and confident ride.
I will not entirely blame our bike guides, because it appears they had never ridden the course. They had no idea where open washrooms, coffee shops or rest area were located. The GPS was helpful, but not always accurate.
After sustaining a fall, it was also clear that there was nothing in place for first aid, transportation, repairs or Emergency services. It was fortunate to have been able to receive some first aid on the boat, by the crew, not the ‘bike boat staff’. They were very kind, but definitely not confident in their role.
Every night, we received a briefing of the next day sites, but it did not coincide with what we saw the next day (very little) and very vague about any of the surroundings. We turned around alot.
An added note, not all E-bikes are created equal, and their was no tutorial or advice on them. I question whether one of the guides had ever used an E-bike.
I would like to say that, although willing and hardworking, the BIKE BOAT TOUR company let the guides down in preparation for this trip.
It would be advisable to use local guides, perhaps.
2. THE ANTIGUA and CREW
We were very impressed with this amazing group of people! They were always available and ready to help.
They were very informative and interesting, and capable people. One of the crew was instrumental in providing first aid so that I could continue my tour. The CHEF was absolutely amazing…he was able to produce very tasty, healthy and a good variety of meals every day. To be able to please most people, is an immense challenge in a small kitchen and he DID it along with some great help.
Regarding the boat, my only real complaints would be lacking some of our more “creature comforts”, but we were never led to believe it would be more than basic accommodations.
Our room was particularly small, with little to no storage, more hooks would be appreciated. An extra pillow as well.
The sailing was spectacular!

The Amsterdam to Bruges trip was awesome! BikeBoat took care of every detail and provided top level service. The food was wonderful and the tour guides friendly and knowledgeable. All staff members were accommodating and provided excellent service. I could not have asked for more.

Our two guides (Henk & Ben) were wonderful, funny, caring, attentive, and worked hard every day. They didn’t, however, know the ride paths or any history of the areas we were in. I understand they were last minute replacements so that makes sense. They should be commended for their work. The ship was fine, but not as good as the two previous ships I’ve been on through Boat-Bike. This was supposed to be a “premium” tour (my other two were not), but it was actually less than my previous trips. The crew was nice and hard working, but the cabins were smaller than my previous non-premium tours and the food was no better (and slightly not as good), so I wouldn’t call this trip “premium.” That all said, the biking and sailing were glorious!

Thank you so much for an amazing week. Everything was above and beyond my expectations. The food that the Chef prepared was amazing.

The guides really made the trip. They endured that everyone was safe and there needs met. Erma knowledge of the history facts was definitely appreciated.

We would definitely consider doing another Boat and Bike tour.
