Did the Turkey and Greece tour. What we didn’t like was having to fly to Bodrum to pick up the boat, stay overnight in Bodrum and then have to go through Turkish and Greek passport/boarder controls twice the next day. It would have been far easier to start the tour directly from Kos and we could have started a ride in the morning. On the penultimate day we had to leave Kos at 1.00 pm to go through customs once again not allowing for lunch in Kos. We had to pay an extra €500 to cross between Turkey and Greece waters. The food on the ship was excellent, a very good chef, all the staff and guides were great, and thoroughly enjoyed all the cycling and swimming. The e-bikes were of a very high standard and far superior to any we have used in the past. If it was not for boarder control we would be giving the holiday 5 stars and will definitely use this company again.
Dear Denise, Thank your kind words – we are happy to hear that the boat accommodation, the staff, the food and guides as well as the equipment provided fulfilled your expectations and supported a positive tour experience. Due to the lack of adequate boats in Greece, we are left with no other alternative but to start this tour in Turkey if we wish to discover the Dodecanese Islands with our guests. Unfortunately, this solution comes with the challenge of moving across an international border where formalities are taken very seriously (embarkation in Greece forbidden) and high levies are charged. We try to be transparent about these additional costs prior to booking these itineraries. Should a more convenient solution present itself, we will be the first to take advantage of it – we promise! Great route and ship, berths and food (Omg. the food!) were exceptional. More information about the sites could have been better shared by guides although there is a good amount of literature on the area provided. Bring your own water bottle as the one provided is inadequate for cycling.

Boat & Bike is a unique and pleasant concept. I have done 2 tours, first the Hanseatic cities and secondly Bruges to Amsterdam. On the most recent one, maps and panniers were not available until the afternoon of day 3, which proved highly problematic for some. The guides were off course several times and we had to double back to return to the route. In busy Ghent, the guides left us behind at the bicycle parking garage, and we were lost for a good 3 hours. Our phones were dead, as the gps uses a lot of data. As seniors, this was quite upsetting. Come on Boat&Bike, you can do better.

Rad+Reisen was amazing. We thought we were taking a trip with boat bike tours, but we never saw anyone from there. The Vivianne boat was amazing and the Rad+Reisen boat group ran the entire bike experience.

Last week was our second tour with Boat Bike tours, this time along the Main river. I will start by talking about the staff and how very hard working and attentive they were. Anita is perfectly suited for her role in running the ship. Wil and Peter were wonderful biking guides. The chef created amazing food and Alvira worked round the clock to keep our cabins spotless.

We absolutely loved our experience with Boat Bike Tours. Every aspect of the week was professionally taken care of by the whole team—the guides, the hospitality staff, the chef, and the captains. We especially enjoyed the fact the guides adjusted routes to accommodate riders who needed a different pace and distance than the faster cyclists. The Magnifique II is a beautiful barge, and the food was top notch. Overall, an amazing experience!
