It is not the company – it is those who the company hired.
In the absolute top is the staff of the ship. They were so well understanding what to do and always on top of things.

Great staff and easy to navigate and understand what we were to do. Comfortable beds.
I suggest having coffee and tea with dinner dessert.
A little thing an di know it’s hard but the food could be hotter when served. Would make it taste better.

Staff was top notch. Captain, tour guides, chef!

The hotel and bike staff

Had an extraordinary time cruising the open waters and exploring this slice of the Netherlands. Totally lived up to my expectations. The crew, staff, and fellow travelers were super friendly and always ready to lend a hand. The guides on the ‘premium’ tour really knew their stuff and were an incredibly nice addition. Oh, and Chef Petr? His dinners were so good they got actual applause every night. Seriously impressive what he created in that tiny kitchen! It’s was very windy on the islands. I would suggest an e-bike.

It was fun to be on the Atlantis and experience an old tall ship. Food was adequate, it would have been nice to offer a free alcoholic drink, wine or beer with dinner. Bathrooms could use some maintenance, shower didn’t drain and toilet only flushed after waiting 15 min.
Biking was fun but would have liked more history if area and more unique stops.

Good crew & guide. Pleasant and helpful. Guide was very knowledgeable with excellent English.

This was our second BoatBike tour in the past twelve months. Our first was the Hansiatic Citys, and this one was the Danube Waltz. The boat, the Swiss Crown, was bigger and more modern than last year’s boat. The food was amazing, every single meal! The cabin was also fantastic in comparison to the one on our boat last year (although, to be fair, this was a newer and larger boat). Our bike rides were easy, scenic and great, even with some rainy bits, and the offered tours were welcomed, though we only went on one, in Budapest. Great communications, fair pricing on drinks, plenty of included scheduled activities (coffee and cake in the afternoons, after dinner dancing and a party, etc.)
Perfect!

We biked last year with a guide and were expecting a more structured ride with some concrete directions, times, maps and better instructions for our trip this year. Seemed to be left to figure things out by map with no recommendation on which route was best.
The daily update from the ‘cruise director’ was short of information, and often left us with more questions than answers. The English speaking group was a small minority on the boat, and often felt they were not adequately informed and supported.
We also were surprised with many additional charges onboard – all drinks ( assumed wine would be included with dinner), drinking water charged at meals, soft drinks charged, tea and coffee charges ( even at dinner), also internet charges
We did not expect with a trip with 6 days of possible rides, that three of them would include additional charges
After committing to the trip , deposit paid, then full amount paid, we felt there was a major lack of communication and information forwarded to us.
We were very pleased with the bikes and biking staff were extremely helpful.
Overall, we had a very fun trip ( we were a group of 18 friends), but we do not feel that this trip measured up to the extremely positive experience we had with Boat and Bike tours last year.

Our week in Croatia on the Romantica was fabulous!
The tour guides were warm and welcoming, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and adapted our cycling route as needed when weather prevented us from visiting the last scheduled island.
The Romantica is a comfortable, well-maintained boat that provided workable sleeping and storage accomodations (we had a twin room below deck).
The food was fresh with an enjoyable variety of meals and breakfast items.
The Romantica crew was incredible and hard-working! Teamwork is evident in everything that happens on the boat, and the crew responded to requests always with a smile.

A couple thoughts for consideration:

– Other boat/bike trips have provided small snacks/appetizers on the boat at the end of the cycling day (prior to dinner). This would be ideal on the Romantica as well, especially when dinner was not served until 19:30H.

– The extra charges for bottled water, and the city tax. I would prefer to have these included as part of the trip payment, and not added on as cash payment on the boat. It feels like we had paid for the trip, but then kept paying for each smaller expense. Perhaps a small point – but maybe worth consideration.

– The lines/cords for hanging wet clothes are fantastic!!
