What an Magnifique Experience! The crew could not have provided better accommodations for a bicycle tour of the Netherlands. Everyone aboard was so kind, cheerful, energetic, and knowledgeable! The tours were beautiful and easy, the food every morning and evening was delicious, and I could not have asked for a better introduction to European travel. Thank you all so much!

The accommodations were excellent and exceptionally clean and well-cared for. The food was delectable and the chef was delightful. We appreciated the guides, their engaging personalities and leadership. The Captain made himself available and gave clear updates. We did have some concerns about safety. Biking in the Netherlands, including traffic signals and signs is much different than in the States and the busy intersections were rather frightening. There were times when we felt unsafe despite the fact that we have spent lots of time on bicycles. I think smaller groups would have helped.

Great staff, good group of people to travel with. Tulips were beautiful,countryside picturesque. Would be good to have a short tutorial on gear shifting and e-bike shifting at beginning of first day riding

Our family enjoyed the trip on the Danube a great deal. The landscape is beautiful, the bike rides along the Danube are very scenic and the rest days in the three great cities, Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest, are a welcome respite from the long days of biking. The tour was well-organized: the crew did their best to make the experience very positive. This includes the navigation of the boat, the comfort and cleanliness of the cabins, the quality and variety of food (not luxurious, but solid), the bike preparedness and maintenance, and the pre-planned bike routes. The boat (Prinzessin Katharina) is spacious, comfortable and well-maintained. Again, it is not luxurious, but solid. Kudos to the boat’s crew who make this experience possible!

The people and the food were the highlights! Loosing our guide on Day 1 was unfortunate but illness is unavoidable. The guide on the sister barge rose to the occasion and did fantastically with so many. Another guide flew in as soon as he could and made it work. The crew on the barge was amazing, providing exceptional food and service.

We loved cycling in scenic Holland. Tulips were amazing! Truly a great experience!

An outstanding small-group experience. We were on the Lena Maria, newly refurbished and very comfortable. The barge crew of 5 was wonderful. Very friendly and attuned to our comfort. They all worked together with the bike guides to make sure everything went smoothly. The captain cleared dishes, the mate served beer, the hostess cleaned cabins and served dinner. The cooks were amazing. Very good food. It was truly one of the best tours I have done. The rides were interesting and of reasonable length (20-30 miles) with lots of stops for photos and snacks. The guides (Alfons and Jeoren) were local and spoke fluent English. Very knowlegeable and easy-going. We even stopped by Jeoren’s home for tea! We got regular bikes and had no problems (Netherlands are pancake flat). Most of the group had e-bikes. Wind was heavy at times but we managed. All the equipment was top-notch and worked well. The guides prepared ahead of the tour to maximize seeing tulip fields in bloom. They called ahead to various cafe’s to make sure they could handle 10-12 riders. The pace was perfect – not too fast, not too slow. Evening briefings let us know what to expect the next day, but they held back some pleasent surprises to mix things up. No complaints. I would do this tour again. Highly recommended.

“Our 4th trip through Boat Bike Tours. This one was outstanding – great countryside, historic ruins, lovely towns and villages, Wieger was an excellent guide and very informative, along with some of the best food we have had on any of these trips from Bob the cook. The barge is very nicely finished, comfortable and the captain and crew were very attentive and helpful. The electric bikes are well maintained and easy to ride, especially up the “”hill”” to Les Baux de Provence.”

The boat and bike tour was everything and more of what we planned. Friendly and helpful. Saw the beautiful countryside and waterways. The boat was comfortable and staff were excellent.

The Lena Maria was exceptionally comfortable. The crew and guides made the trip fantastic! The guides were so helpful and knowledgeable and the food onboard truely exceeded our expectations.
