We loved our boat & bike tour through Netherlands and Belgium! The entire crew on the Magnifique II was amazing, from the tour guides to the hosts to the sailor to the chef to the captain, everyone made us feel at home on the boat. The bikes were really easy to get used to, and the routes were absolutely beautiful. The guides kept the experience interesting with plenty of stops for water/snacks/information. It was a nice relaxed cruise (we stopped for coffee every day)! The terrain is mostly flat, but it’s very windy in the Netherlands! The weather was very unpredictable, so layers and rain gear was key. Most days we returned from our day between 2pm – 4pm, and dinner was around 6pm – 7pm. There was plenty of time to shower, relax, have a drink, and socialize before dinner. The cabins on the Magnifique II were comfortable. They were small but fine for two people. The beds were great, though more narrow than an American twin sized bed. We didn’t spend any time in our room other than to sleep. The ship was very comfortable with lots of spots to sit outside or inside. We did not feel like were in cramped quarters with the other guests. The food on the Magnifique II was wonderful. There was plenty of breakfast to fuel for the day, snacks that we could take with us, as well as a lunch we pack for ourselves. There was a lovely snack available when we returned from the day, and always coffee and tea all day. The chef introduced every dinner with pride and enthusiasm, and it was clear that he loved crafting creative meals for us. We were sad to leave this tour, and the crew, and we are already planning our next adventure with Boat Bike Tours!

The guides and all of the staff members on The Fleur were outstanding and made our experience with Boat Bike Tours so very memorable. They were courteous, warm, competent, and their work made the tour seamless and totally enjoyable. That said, the best part had to be the food. Steph’s cuisine was amazing.

Really fabulous until things went wrong, then completely let down by this company! Our boat became ‘unseaworthy’ and we were forced to spend our trip on buses and checking in and out of hotels daily. We were asked to find our own meals on a number of occasions, and start and finish times were much later each day as they reorganised our tour plans. Boatbike promised that we would be suitably compensated but getting any sort of compensation from them has proven to be extremely difficult. We were also out of pocket for many weeks for meals they did not provide but promised to reimburse us for. Could have been fantastic but their support of us when the tour needed to change has been very disappointing. They are also very good at ignoring any contact from their customers in this sort of situation – no responses to emails!

We had a wonderful time doing the best of Holland and Belgium tour! All the staff was so accommodating and friendly. They all worked hard to make sure all guests had a great time! They truly made our experience the best! Food was tasty and evening meals were a variety of dishes throughout the week. Even if the weather didn’t always cooperate the experience was sensational! I am hoping that we do another tour sometime in the future. Thank you for making such great memories for all the guests on board!

Very well done by crew and captain

This company does a great job in keeping one informed about the tour with very clear details. The guides are great in mingling and getting to know their riders. This sail/bike rides was a new offering so a few glitches needed to be worked out. The rides were interesting and offered a short and long ride most days. The transport over to the island of Ven took longer than expected so had less time to bike around and explore—would like to have more. The breakfast on the boat could have a few more choices—since it was a bit cool and rainy would like to have hot cereal. I did enjoy the variety of fruits offered. The rooms were adequate in view of the age of the sailing ship age although our room’s porthole was in the ceiling resulting in light shining on your face most of the night. This was the problem of the front four cabins. Because of a broken wrist of one of the bikers, we had to backtrack to our previous port so rides were adjusted and original plan not completed. However, the changes were acceptable-Hester and Jens did a great job on the fly so to speak. Our sailing afternoon was such a highlight and the sailing explanation thorough. We all got to hoist sails, the motor shut off and the quiet experience with the wind and lapping through the waves was priceless and definitely a highlight of this trip.

We spent a wonderful week on the Flora on the Friesland tour led by the fantastic team of captain Berthus, chef Jonne and sailor Andy. All worked hard to make our boat bike tour a fabulous experience. The weather was atrocious but nevertheless we loved our holiday in this special region. The imaginative and delicious food prepared by Jonne was a welcome treat after cycling in the wind and the rain. The friendship and camaraderie between guests of different nationalities was very special, aided by the wonderful crew.

Excellent friendly guides who paced the rides for the group. The e-bikes were good quality and great for various terrains. Food on the boat was varied and plentiful. Traveling on a tall sailing ship was delightful, though it wasn’t windy enough to have all sails up. Loved traveling with international engaged travelers ❣️
