Small boat. Excellent leader.

Just finished a boat bike tour in Southern Holland. I am not a regular cyclist, so I was a bit unsure of my ability. With the help of an e-bike and the staff I thoroughly enjoyed my week. The company was fantastic, food was good and beautiful scenery along the way. Everything we needed was provided. I would highly recommend this tour.

“This was my 5th B/B tour and this trip was a little lower than the others in quality. The crew was fantastic – every one of them – but the food was obviously store-bought instead of being made on-board, the lack of Chef curated meals was obvious to veterans like us. Also – and this is big for many of us – this was supposed to be a bike AND boat tour – but this was a boat/bike/bike/bike tour. Other than the cruise the first day, we did not cruise again!!! We started every day where we stopped the previous evening and never had a chance to enjoy the lovely cruising available on those canals and rivers. Finally, although a lovely, friendly woman, Olga was not “”up-to-par”” with the other tour leaders we have experienced. She tried but just didn’t have the answers to issues or present the daily briefings very effectively. On the other hand, the app is BETTER THAN EVER! Really makes it easy.”

The bike tour itself was well done with GPS guidance. Our e-bikes were fine, the accommodations were cozy but manageable. The food was excellent and the crew did everything they could to give us a great experience. We will use Boat Bike Tours again

Just completed our week on the Sundial Aeolian Island Boat Bike Hike. Loved it! The crew and guide were very attentive to our every need. The food was Sicilian which for me added to the experience. We had to depart from the published itinerary due to weather but everything was covered and more. I would echo some previous reviews regarding the ride rating of 2. You’ll have to be a pretty accomplished and fit biker if you don’t elect for the e-bike option. The bikes are top notch but a 7 or 8 km uphill at a 15-20 degree incline might challenge. We were able to make the extra trip to Pollara only because of the e-bikes. The two active volcano treks were great experiences. I’d recommend a small back pack for the hikes and visiting the Stromboli volcano at night warrants a head lamp (though cell phone flashlight was fine). Our third Boat Bike Tour and five stars again.

The sailing experience and meeting people from different countries.

The bike riding was fantastic. very nice being in the canal boat. we really enjoyed the small villages and countryside.

Even though our trip was cut short due to the rising river and flooding, we had a wonderful trip from Metz to Cochem/Koblenz. The entire crew made us feel at home and we remained safe as the river rose. We will return again and again and recommend this amazing form of recreational travel.

The boat was absolutely beautiful and very very clean. The food delicious, fresh and obviously cooked with love for dining. The daily rides through the countryside were interesting with changes of scenery and neighborhoods. The guides stopped and pointed out historic points of interest and meaningful local lore. It’s the best way to really see the countryside with bike paths and quiet roads. Our bikes were comfortable and well maintained. We had 2 groups, for 28 riders, based on the ride length averaging 15-25 miles per day. Our average pace for the days was around 10 mph which I found a bit slow with a lot of waiting for the rear to catch up. I think 3 groups would have been better. That being said, the guide leaders were fantastic and did keep us together. I would highly recommend the trip and plan to do more in the future. It would be great to have a bike jersey from the company.

Just completed the Bruge to Paris tour on the Fleur. Very well organised and run. Steffie and her crew kept us well fed and safe along the waterways Guides Marcel and Michiel where expert guides and showed us all the highlights on the 14 day trip, kept us on course and adjusted the day to suit weather etc. very enjoyable.

Our guide often provided commentary and ensured our safety at every turn. This trip was truly a journey of a lifetime, filled with unforgettable memories and new friendships forged along the way. Highly recommend to anyone seeking an unforgettable adventure in the heart of Scandinavia!
