Scotland stirs the imagination like few other destinations. Craggy coastlines, misty isles, historic castles, and the lingering sound of bagpipes form the backdrop for an unforgettable journey. A Journey Through the Inner Hebrides

The heart of our Scottish Sail & Bike experience lies in the western islands. Starting and ending in the port town of Oban, you’ll sail aboard the Flying Dutchman, a traditional tall ship with modern comforts. The route leads through the Isle of Mull, the remote Kintyre Peninsula, and wild Isle of Jura, known for its red deer, empty roads, and world-famous whisky distillery.

Cycling stages wind through breathtaking landscapes: along rugged cliffs, across moors, past lochs, and through postcard-perfect villages. On the water, you may spot seals, dolphins, or even sea eagles as the ship glides between islands.

Sail in Comfort and Character

The Flying Dutchman is a two-masted sailing ship built for comfort and adventure. With space for just 22 guests, the atmosphere is personal and welcoming. Enjoy a hearty breakfast before setting off on your bike, and unwind in the evening with a warm meal prepared by the crew—or a whisky in a local pub as live Scottish folk music plays.

On days when you prefer a break from cycling, you’re welcome to stay on board and enjoy the coastal scenery from the deck as the ship makes its way to the next mooring.

Authentic Encounters, Off the Beaten Path

A boat and bike journey in Scotland is a deep dive into the soul of the Highlands and islands. You’ll cycle to castles like Duart Castle, pass Highland cattle grazing in fields, and visit towns untouched by mass tourism. Evenings invite quiet reflection or spirited conversation—always framed by the ever-changing light and wild beauty of the landscape.

You’ll not only see Scotland—you’ll feel it.
