Guarded by the towering Velebit mountain range in the east and hugged by the Istria Peninsula in the northwest lie the Kvarner bay islands. Quiet coves of crystal clear water surround the dramatic landscapes of the Kvarner bay islands; green hills and rocky moon landscapes give way to small harbor towns rich in history and culture. Discover the charm of the Adriatic Sea for yourself by e-bike and boat on board one of our romantic motor yachts.
The day begins with a well-rounded breakfast leaving you fit to explore the diversity of the Kvarner bay islands on a guided bike tour. Be it the medieval city of Rab, the car-free road in the sky on Dugi Otok or the contemplative life of the dwellers on the flower island of Molat, each day brings with it new discoveries. Evenings are mostly spent in picturesque harbor towns with winding alleyways where a great range of bars and cafes stand host for a relaxing evening.
The friendly crew will always make sure that you enjoy an easy-going journey. This tour belongs to the Plus-Program and matches activity with comfort. The proud motor yacht Andela Lora is your comfortable home for an amazing week. Tenderly decorated roomy cabins, bathrooms with separate shower, a comfortable sundeck as well as a stylish salon await your visit.
Due to changing wind and weather conditions as well as organizational requirements the tour could be conducted in reverse order.
E-Bike Tour
The riding pace is determined by the cyclists on e-bikes. Guests who are taking part on this tour on a gravel bike should have the necessary physical condition to keep up with this pace. The tours will take us up to a height of 400 to 700 m above sea-level. The day-tours from 18to 36 mi. (30 to 60 km) will take us through hilly and mountainous terrain. Thank you for your understanding.
The ship – Your sailing hotel
In between cycling excursions, you cruise along with the ship, which travels to a new destination every day. You will sleep and have breakfast and 1 or 2 warm meals on board. Depending on the program, this will be lunch or dinner. The other meal is ashore (not included). It’s possible to spend a day on board if you like. There are rental bikes on board, but you can also bring your own if you mention it when booking.
All distances are “approximate distances” of recommended bike tours.
The tour details are barring changes, a.o. as a result of nautical, technical or meteorological reasons. We reserve the right to make changes to the itinerary, depending on wind and weather conditions or organizational requirements. Sometimes the tour will be conducted in reverse order. You will find further details in your booking information package.
Day 1: Embarkation: Omišalj | Omišalj – Cres
Individual arrival in Omišalj, a nice little harbor village on the island of Krk. If you’re planning to arrive by car, we will organise a safe parking space for you. Check-in on the motor yacht between 2 and 2:30 pm. At approx. 3 pm the ship takes us to the island of Cres in about four hours. On Cres we take a walk through the Venetian old town in the evening.
Day 2: Cres – Martinšćica (Approx. 28 km/18 mi.) | Martinšćica – Mali Lošinj
After breakfast we start our tour from the city of Cres to Martinšćica. The boat awaits your arrival and lunch is served during the cruise to the island of Lošinj. If the weather is good, the captain will arrange a swim stop along the way before tying off in the harbor wellness town of Mali Lošinj. The port with its colorful facades and numerous cafes offers its visitors a welcoming atmosphere for a relaxed evening.
Day 3: Lošinj – Veli Lošinj | Veli Lošinj – Molat (Approx. 20+10 km/12+6 mi.)
We cycle along the seaside promenade to the south of Lošinj and visit the picturesque small harbor of Veli Losinj before you will meet the ship for lunch. In the afternoon we cross over to the island of Molat, where we can do another short cycling tour. Finally we stay overnight in a quiet harbor of Molat island.
Day 4: Molat – Dugi Otok | Dugi Otok – Savar (Approx. 32 km/20 mi.) | Savar – Zadar
During breakfast the ship leaves Molat and takes us past many small islands to the “spice island” of Dugi Otok. Our bike tour starts in the bay of Božava, which is surrounded by woods of pine, agave and tamarisk trees. We ride on an almost traffic free road. Our ride takes us first to a beautiful viewpoint at the northernmost point of the Island where the old Austrian lighthouse of Veli Rat resides. From here we continue by bike along the island ridge with beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding island landscapes all the way to the bay of Savar where the boat awaits us for a cruise to Zadar. Zadar has been the political, cultural and spiritual centre of Dalmatia for centuries. 3000 years of history have left their imprint on the character of this town and there are many things to be admired: the mighty fortified walls with their bastions, the loggia and the early Romanesque St. Donatus Basilica. In the evening our tour guide takes us on an extensive walk through the lively city center.
Day 5: Zadar – Island of Pag (Approx. 20 km/12 mi.) – Island of Rab
After a long crossing in the morning we reach the island of Pag. In the harsh but delightful landscape of the island we come across many fig and olive trees. Over the centuries the inhabitants have built numerous stonewalls for protection against the wind. Starting in Novalja we cycle on the narrow peninsula until we reach the sea from where the ship takes you to Rab. The island of Rab is one of the sunniest places in Europe. The town of Rab, the fortified capital of the island, was built in the Middle Ages on a wedge shaped headland, and marks one of the highlights of the trip. The four famous bell towers are the symbol of the adorned beauty of the town. After dinner we can explore the narrow alleys with numerous cozy cafés.
Day 6: Island of Rab (Approx. 22 km/14 mi.) | Island of Rab – Island of Krk
Today we get to know the charming island of Rab on a lovely ride around the island. At lunchtime the ship awaits us in the harbor directly in front of the old town of Rab. We cruise towards the island of Krk and anchor along the way for a refreshing swim stop from the boat. In the late afternoon we reach the island of Krk where we spend the evening in the historical town of Krk.
Day 7: Island of Krk – Vrbnik – Omišalj (Approx. 47 km/29 mi.)
We cycle over the ridge of the island, which is covered by fragrant “macchia” to a valley of vineyards and then onwards to the small museum town of Vrbnik in the northeast. The town, built on a 50-meter-high cliff and surrounded by vineyards, is the home of the famous white wine, Žlahtina. Another peculiarity that Vrbnik has to offer is the second narrowest alley in the world. The way leads us across the island through old villages and rich vegetation to Omišalj. On our way we have a chance to swim in the bay of Soline. A cheerful evening meal on board the boat gives you time to celebrate the success of the week with fellow travelers and tour guides.
Day 8: Disembarkation: Omišalj
After breakfast disembarkation until 9 am. and individual trip home.

E-Bikes: High-quality pedelec, powered mainly by a Bosch motor capable of covering long distances, and characterized by their light weight and great components. Alternative drive systems may also be used.
Standard components of our e-bikes in varying frame sizes include, 28 inch hollow chamber rims with puncture-proof touring tires, high-quality derailleur gears and break systems, a carrier and a sturdy bike stand, touring saddle as well as mudguards and a pannier rack. We offer a trapeze frame for all guests up to 1.79 m, and a diamond frame for people taller than 1.80 m.
The gravel bikes can be ridden over a variety of terrain. These bikes run perfectly on smooth asphalt surfaces as well as on gravel trails. The Orbea Terra H (or similar model) is the ideal all-terrain road bike. The ‘H’ stands for ‘hydro’ and indicates the extensive versatility of the bike. The aluminium frame allows for an upright seating position, as required for non-asphalted roads. Orbea calls this “all-road geometry”. The Terra H has a carbon fork, which allows tire widths up to 40 mm, flat mounted disc brakes, and 12 mm thru axles. A Shimano Tiagra transmission completes the bike’s components. The bike is fast, light, robust, extremely versatile, and is exceptional to handle.
Bringing private bikes & exclusion of private e-bikes: The tour which you have booked requires an e-bike in top technical condition. Islandhopping can offer you high quality, fully serviced rental bikes perfect for the terrain of this tour.
We do not allow you to bring your own e-bike due to the safety regulations on ship as well as ensuring the safety of our employees. If you would like to ride an e-bike, please rent one from our inventory.
We do not advise bringing your own tour or hybrid bike, as the guided group pace is oriented towards the e-bike riders. If you want to ride your own bike on the trip, we recommend bringing a sporty bike that meets the technical requirements to keep pace with the higher speed of the e-bikes. In addition, your bike will need to have good tires (ex. Gravel Bike or Cyclocross Bike). Furthermore, you should ensure you have the required level of physical fitness. Before traveling, please check the condition of brakes, gears and tires as well bringing repair kits and essential spare parts (e.g. inner tube). Your bike must be in top technical condition. Please keep in mind that transporting your own bicycle will result in relatively high additional costs (particularly when flying) and the risk of transport damages is high.
