This journey combines two very different regions: Kerala in the lush, tropical south – known for its palm-lined backwaters, tea plantations, and tranquil charm – and the famous Golden Triangle in the north, where Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur await with some of India’s most iconic cultural treasures, including the world-renowned Taj Mahal. A truly extraordinary trip for anyone who wants to experience India in an authentic, active, and multifaceted way.
Day 1: Kochi (Arrival)
Namaste and Welcome to Kerala, India – God’s Own Country! We are delighted to have you join us on this incredible journey. Upon your arrival at the airport, our dedicated representative will warmly greet you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. They will also ensure a smooth check-in process, so you can settle in comfortably. Relax and unwind as you enjoy a delightful dinner, followed by a restful overnight stay at the hotel. We look forward to an unforgettable experience together!
Day 2: Kochi – Alleppey (aprx. 9 mi./14 km)
After a delightful breakfast, you will check out from the hotel and embark on an exciting sightseeing tour of Fort Kochi by Tuk Tuk (a traditional three-wheeled auto-rickshaw). Visiting highlights like the Chinese fishing nets, Jewish Synagogue, and Vasco da Gama’s tomb at St. Francis Church. Following the tour, you will travel by car/bus to Alleppey (aprx. 2 hours) for the next leg of the journey. After a refreshing tea/coffee break, the adventure continues with a 14 km warm-up cycling ride through scenic rice fields towards the docking headquarters of the boat accomodation. Upon arrival, you will check in to the traditional houseboat. The cruise begins with an introduction to the crew, followed by a delicious late lunch on board. End the day with a delightful dinner and an overnight stay on the houseboat.
Day 3: Thrikunnapuzha – Karumadi (aprx. 15-18 mi./25 – 30 km)
Wake up early to witness the beautiful sunrise from the comfort of your houseboat. After a hearty breakfast on board, embark on an exciting cycling excursion starting from Thrikkunnapuzha. Ride along a scenic coastal route, passing by Valiazheekal Beach, where you can take in the sea Breeze and ocean views. The journey continues through Kayamkulam Kayal, a tranquil waterway lined with picturesque villages, offering a glimpse into the local way of life. Along the way, stop for a photo opportunity at a historic church, followed by a visit to the Karimarathinkal Devi Temple. Proceed to the anchor point at Kumarakodi, where you’ll have time to explore the surroundings and end the day with a delicious dinner on board.
Day 4: Karumadi – Pallathurthy (aprx. 15 mi./ 25 km)
After a delicious breakfast, we will disembark from the houseboat and begin an enriching cycling journey, starting with a visit to the Lord Krishna Temple. The ride continues along narrow canals, passing through the picturesque landscapes of Kuttanad and the Pumba River, where you’ll catch glimpses of bustling fish markets and daily life along the waterways. Take a short tea break at a local shop. Next, we cycle towards the renowned St. Mary’s Basilica. Afterward, enjoy a picnic lunch amidst lush rice fields, offering an authentic Kerala experience. In the afternoon, return to the houseboat, where you can enjoy tea or coffee before cruising toward the Boat Jetty. End the day with a delightful dinner and an overnight stay on the houseboat.
Day 5: Alleppey – Mararikulam (aprx. 9 mi./ 15 km)
After breakfast, we will check out from the houseboat, thank the crew, and drive to Alleppey city. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to explore local markets and pick up souvenirs. Next, we embark on our final cycling stretch towards Mararikulam, pedaling through scenic coastal roads and charming villages. Upon arrival at the resort, settle in and enjoy its relaxing atmosphere. The rest of the day is yours to unwind at your own pace. We have arranged a 1-hour Ayurveda experience— please book your slot for a rejuvenating massage. Alternatively, take a leisurely stroll along the pristine Marari Beach or simply relax. As the day ends, witness a breathtaking sunset by the shore, marking the perfect conclusion to your Cycling tour through South India.
Day 6: Mararikulam – Yoga, Wellness & Culinary Delights
India has been renowned for Yoga since ancient times, and there’s no better way to start your day than with a refreshing morning yoga session, surrounded by serenity. This practice nurtures the mind, body, and soul, bringing a deep sense of inner peace and balance. After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely day at the beach – unwind, bask in the sun, or take a peaceful stroll along the shore, soaking in the tranquil coastal ambiance. In the evening, take part in a hands-on cooking workshop, where an expert chef will guide you in preparing traditional local dishes. Conclude your day with a delightful dinner, savoring the authentic flavors of your own creations – an unforgettable culinary experience!
Day 7: Mararikulam – Drive to Thattekad
Start your day with a delightful breakfast at the resort, soaking in the serene coastal ambiance of Mararikulam. After a relaxing morning, check out and set off for Thattekad, a breathtaking destination renowned for its lush greenery and vibrant birdlife.
Upon arrival, settle into your camp hotel along the tranquil riverbanks. Stroll through a small plantation, where you‘ll discover traditional farming methods and their role in daily life. For those seeking adventure, an optional cycling tour takes you through charming villages and scenic landscapes, leading to a nearby resort. This immersive ride offers a glimpse into rural life, showcasing the rich local culture and natural beauty. Unwind and enjoy a peaceful overnight stay at the camp hotel, surrounded by nature’s tranquility.
Day 8: Departure – Delhi Flight
Start your day early (around 5 am) with a transfer to the airport, enjoying a packed breakfast on the way. Board your flight to Delhi, North India, where your journey continues with an exploration of the region’s highlights. Upon arrival embark on an orientation tour of New Delhi, pausing to capture stunning photos of iconic landmarks like India Gate and the majestic Government Buildings. Later, check in at your hotel and relax in comfort. In the evening, enjoy a delicious Indian dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 9: Morning Bike Tour in Delhi & Transfer to Jaipur
Start your day with an immersive guided bike tour through the historic streets of Old Delhi. Cycle past vibrant markets, acient temples, and Mughal architecture, including Chandni Chowk and Jama Masjid. After soaking in the morning energy, enjoy a traditional Indian breakfast. Then, take a scenic drive to Jaipur, the famed Pink City and capital of Rajasthan, passing rural villages and the Aravalli Hills.
Upon arrival, visit a magnificent palace to experience royal grandeur and rich history. In the evening, experience Jaipur’s magic with a leisurely rickshaw ride through its lively streets, filled with colorful bazaars and stunning architecture. Enjoy an overnight stay in Jaipur.
Day 10: Jaipur Safari & Sightseeing
Start your day with an optional pre-booked early morning Leopard Safari at the picturesque Jhalana Leopard Reserve, spotting leopards, hyenas, jackals, and bird amid the Aravalli Hills sunrise. For a relaxed morning, enjoy leisure time at the hotel. After breakfast, explore Jaipur’s architectural gems, beginning with Amber Fort, a UNESCO site with grand palaces and stunning views. Next, explore the Jantar Mantar, the 18th-century astronomical observatory with impressive stone instruments, and the iconic Hawa Mahal, known for its intricate façade and royal windows.

Day 11: Cycling Adventure & Bird Sanctuary Exploration (approx. 18 mi./ 30 km)
After a hearty breakfast, set out on a scenic journey to Bharatpur, home to the renowned Keoladeo National Park—a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its diverse birdlife. On the way, you stop in the charming village of Paharsar for a scenic 18 miles cycling adventure through rural North India. Ride along narrow country roads, passing lush farmlands, mud-brick homes, and vibrant village markets, experiencing traditional village life. Depending on your hotel location, the ride may extend to your accommodation.
In Bharatpur, you explore the stunning Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary, home to hundreds of migratory and resident birds, including painted storks, pelicans, kingfishers, and the rare Siberian crane. Whether you choose to stroll or cycle along the park’s peaceful trails, you‘ll be surrounded by serene lakes and dense vegetation—perfect for birdwatching and wildlife photography.
End the day with a relaxing overnight stay in Bharatpur.
Day 12: Cycling to Agra & Sunset View of the Taj Mahal (approx. 18-28 mi./30 – 45 km)
Begin your day with a delicious breakfast before setting off on an exciting journey towards Agra. The route from Bharatpur to Fatehpur Sikri covers approximately 30 km, with an option to extend the ride to 43 km for those who wish to challenge themselves further. Enjoy refreshing stops, explore historical sites, and have lunch at a local eatery. Then, board the support vehicle for the final journey to Agra. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax. As the sun begins to set, indulge in a high tea experience at a scenic location offering a breathtaking view of the Taj Mahal. Enjoy fine teas and snacks while watching the golden light reflect on the iconic monument – an unforgettable experience. Return to your hotel afterwards for a restful overnight stay in Agra.
Day 13: Taj Mahal, Farewell Dinner in Delhi & Departure
Start your day early with a magical sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, one of the world’s most breathtaking monuments. Wander the gardens, admire the intricate Mughal architecture, and soak in the serence ambiance of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to your hotel for breakfast before heading to the railway station for your train journey back to Delhi. After your arrival in Delhi, you will be taken to a hotel where you can store your luggage.
Once in Delhi, enjoy some free time to explore at your own pace, shop for souvenirs, or relax at the hotel. In the evening, gather for a special farewell dinner at a renowned restaurant in Delhi.
A shared wash-and-changing room will be available at the hotel for freshing up before departure. After an unforgettable journey, you will be transferred to the airport to begin your individual journey home on an overnight flight. Safe travels!
* If traveling home on the same day feels too exhausting, you can, of course, extend your India trip with an additional night in Delhi for an extra charge. You would then begin your journey home the following day. We are happy to assist you with the hotel booking.
Itinerary Changes: We reserve the right to make changes to the planned itinerary due to changing wind and weather conditions as well as organizational requirements.
Level 3 / 5: Bike tours through predominantly flat terrain with no major gradients up to approximately 150 meters. Mostly on roads with traffic, but sometimes also on unpaved paths. The difficulty of cycling tours in India is primarily due to the unfamiliar climatic conditions and the traffic.
Relevant for all levels: Safe cycling skills and familiarity with road traffic are prerequisites for taking part in our tours.
Requirement to wear a helmet: Helmets are mandatory on our bike tours. In order to guarantee optimum protection we request that the guests bring their own well fitted helmet. A limited selection of rental helmets is available (reservation required).
Bringing Children: We believe that only children with a good physical condition and previous bicycle tour experience and a minimum age of 10 are able to master the cycle tours with their own strength. Please note that the minimum height for a rental bike is 1.50 m (5 ft.) for hybrid bikes.
Catering: Fullboard on the boat and halfboard in the hotels
A trip to India and a holiday spent there requires a certain amount of preparation in regard to formalities. In order to avoid time pressure while going through the formalities, you should have booked your trip to India at least two months before commencement of the tour.
Visa and passport: A valid visa is required for entry, which must be applied for before entering the country. We recommend that you apply for the visa at least one month before your trip. You can apply for an e-visa in English via the following link: Electronic Visa system – India
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the completion of your trip and contains at least two free pages for endorsements is required for entry. It is recommended that you carry proof of your return or onward journey (e.g. flight ticket) and a booking confirmation for your accommendation, as these documents may be checked on entry.
Flights: It is recommended that you book your flight through your travel agent. Please note that you have to book your outward flight to Kochi (Cochin International Airport / COK) and the return flight from Delhi (Indira Gandhi International Airport / DEL).
Luggage: We have booked 20 kg of baggage for you for the domestic flight from South to North India. And a further 7 kg of hand baggage. Please note this when booking your international flight to India.

For this tour, we’ll provide you with a Cannondale Trail 6 or comparable rental bike. The Cannondale Trail 6 is a versatile hardtail mountain bike with a lightweigh aluminum frame and modern geometry – perfect for touring, gravel roads, and beginner trails. It comes equipped with a front suspension fork with lockout, a reliable Shimano 2×9 speed drivetrain, and hydraulic disc brakes for safe handling. Durable wheels and grippy tires ensure stability across a variety of surfaces.
As these bikes typically don’t come with racks, we recommend bringing a hydration backpack to stay well-hydrated during the rides. Your tour guide will also carry some extra water for refills.
If you’d prefer to use your own saddle (without seat post) or clip-in pedals, feel free to bring them along – your guide will help fit them to your rental bike.








In Kochi, Mararikulam, Delhi, Jalapur, Bharatpur and Agra you’ll stay in carefully selected 3 to 5 star-hotels, all featuring en-suite bathrooms and air-conditioning. Most hotels also offer wellness areas or pools for extra relaxation. A generous breakfast buffet with local specialties awaits you each morning.
