Enjoy unforgettable days on board a custom-built barge with excellent service and an alternating itinerary.
Amsterdam is also called, by some, the smallest metropolis of Europe. It boasts many unique museums, as well as enticing shopping, and the UNESCO-listed canals in the heart of city certainly make a visit to Amsterdam a fine Holland highlight. Visit the famous flower market in the center of the capital and discover the Zaanse Schans open-air museum, including windmills, a traditional cheese maker, a clog maker, and a traditional Dutch village. Other highlights of this trip are the historic city of Haarlem, the world famous flower park Keukenhof, near Lisse. Optional is a visit to the world’s largest flower auction* in Aalsmeer.
The ship – Your sailing hotel
In between cycling excursions, you cruise along with the ship, which travels to a new destination every day. You dine, sleep and eat breakfast on board. You’ll receive a packed lunch every day, and you can usually choose between a longer or shorter bike ride. It’s also possible to spend a day on board if you like. There are rental bikes on board, but you can also bring your own if you mention it when booking.
Accompanied by a competent, professional and multilingual tour leader, you and the group will visit interesting sights and places on the daily cycling tours. During the bike tour, they will explain the local history and culture behind the things you encounter along the way. You can also choose to ride individually with the help of a map and route notes (available on board)
Parts that are printed in italics parts will be covered by the ship.
All distances are “approximate distances” of recommended bike tours.
The tour details are barring changes, a.o. as a result of nautical, technical or meteorological reasons.
Day 1: Amsterdam | Amsterdam – Zaandam
Embarkation and check-in, where the crew will welcome you on board, takes place at 2 p.m. As soon as all guests have arrived a short cruise will bring you to Zaandam, a spot famous for its windmills. Here, your barge will berth in the center of the city for the night. Upon arrival you can enjoy taking your new bike for a brief test ride through the surrounding area. In the evening, enjoy a short walk through the picturesque center of Zaandam.
Day 2: Zaandam – “Zaanse Schans” – Zaandam | Zaandam – Haarlem (24 km/14 mi. or 34 km/21 mi.)
After breakfast you will enjoy a 5 km bicycle ride to the open air museum “Zaanse Schans” with beautiful windmills, traditional wooden houses, an old Dutch village, a cheese farm and a traditional wooden clog maker. In the afternoon you have a choice to make: you can either cycle (24 km/14 mi.) to Haarlem or take it easy and join the barge while enjoying the scenery. In Haarlem visit the historical inner city with the Grote Markt and St. Bavo church. Your barge will be berthed not far from the centre of Haarlem for the night, so you will have time to enjoy a short city walk in the afternoon or in the evening.
Day 3: Haarlem – Keukenhof – Oude Wetering (39 km/24 mi. or 57 km/35 mi.)

This morning you are in for a real treat – an early visit by bus (6.30 a.m.) to the biggest flower auction in the world at Aalsmeer. In the morning millions of flowers are auctioned off here and are instantly sent out to all parts of the world*. By 9 a.m. you will return on the your barge where a late breakfast will be waiting for you. You will join the barge sailing through Amsterdam During the afternoon you either have the opportunity to make a last beautiful cycling tour through the wetlands of Waterland or to discover this amazing city. Everything was wonderful! Bikes were great, comfortable, easy to use. Guides were excellent, food was absolutely phenomenal! How they could turn out meals for 40+ in those areas was a miracle! Food so fresh as was picked up at each stop…exceeded my expectations! Did two trips back to back Holland & Italy..each one was just as good as the other.…
Very nice boat – clean and comfortable. The cycling time table is really full. Start from 0900 until 1600 – stop a few times for viewing, lunch etc… Delicious food, helpful & smiley staff, professional & experienced cycling guides. We are very happy and enjoy the 5 days Tulip Trip. The cost is really worth.
I had a wonderful time! I expected the tulips to be the highlight of my 5-day Tulip Tour on the Magnifique III, and yes, they were gorgeous, but I was continually surprised by all the other marvelous things I hadn’t expected. My suite was beyond my expectations, with a sliding glass door and an oh-so-comfortable mattress. The guides (Arie and…
The boat was beautiful and staff was great. Our cabin was clean, cozy and food was good. I do think that some of the descriptions of the trip regarding the bicycling were not accurate. On our trip, more then half of the riders used the e bike. Even the leader had an e bike. We didn’t expect that and as…
