Our first bike and boat trip and it was better than I expected! Biking along the Danube was breathtaking. For the most part we were on bike paths, only a little street riding. We passed small towns, vineyards, cornfields, castles, churches, wineries, water buffalo, and fields with lavender and other flowers. The Guibo app worked pretty well but occasionally it did not keep up. However, we were able to quickly correct our route. Riding along the river you’ll see a castle on a hill every mile or so. We packed our lunch at breakfast and enjoyed it along the way, often with a beer in a small town. The SE Manon is a nice boat, more than adequate and staff was very nice. Most guests are from that region and speak German, but thankfully we made friends with a few that spoke English.

Basically most things about the trip were very good. Crew very friendly, food very good, cleanliness top notch.
Slight changes: 1. Cycle routes – maybe better details for some tricky turns etc, such as a photo or a drawing;
2. Limited drinks choice, especially the E19/day option. Need a better Spirit option.

The biggest bicycle crew and dining staff are exceptional. As were the housekeeping staff.
The two staff who did the afternoon updates were just average. The information they gave was not as thorough as it could have been and not well organized.

Every member of the staff, from top to bottom was not only helpful but eager to lend a hand. The one thing that irritated me was how we were charged for so many things that should have been included in the original cost of the trip. For example, I asked for a glass of water. I got a very small one and then was charged a rather large amount for the water.

The check in process was efficient and friendly. Our cabin was clean and had plenty of room for our bags. The bed was comfortable. Staff were all very friendly. Food which was provided was very tasty and plentiful. The ship itself was comfortable and spacious. We were extremely uncomfortable with the tipping etiquette – staff should be paid by the company and passengers should tip if they feel it is appropriate. The drinks package available should have had more items on it – such as a cocktail a day as well as more spirits.

Experience of a lifetime! Beautiful scenery, bike paths were great, food onboard was excellent and finally, crew onboard SE Manon was excellent. Will definitely book another trip in the near future.
