This is our 3rd trip with BoatBikeTours. They were great thru the pandemic offering a refund or future trip: our choice! We chose the future trip and went to Hanseatic Tours learning about the ancient Hanseatic partnership of various countries for protection and trade alliances. Our guide was and always has been by request Tami Veneeman (or something like that). Her local knowledge is superb and if she doesn’t make up answers to questions, but researches and gets back to you timely. We learned a lot, had a super time fully guided, had a wonderful comfortable and spacious boat so didn’t have to pack and unpack daily. Breakfast and dinner were served daily, and the chef was magnificent! We also had a treat when we arrived back to the boat each day. We are truly looking forward to another trip with this company in the next year.

The tour was fantastic. Lena Maria was a great boat. Cabins were super clean , all organized. Hot showers always available. We will be back for sure. In fact I am interested to organize a group tour for my cycling club back in Vancouver. Suggestions for improvement: The bar charges were wrong for us and we had to argument our side. The correction of charges was also wrong. We were puzzled by the errors. We had given a large tip already so we felt a little cheated.

Lovely vacation. Best way to travel, bike tours every day through beautiful landscapes and small cities. Best service on board, friendly staff and good food. Highly recommended!

Friesland is a very beautiful area. The boat Lena Maria is a small boat with around 22 passagers and only 3 persons were managing our travel. The skiper, the cook chef and a young lady. They made a tremendous job, team spirit was excellent. The cook was really great and inventive. Crew was always calm, helpful and nice. Travelling in such conditions is fantastic, much better than on a bigger boat and less formal. We really felt free. Thank you for this tour

We love BoatBike tours and were happy to see a new one. The Lena Marie is a smaller ship which means a more homey atmosphere. Also very comfortable cabins with enough storage space and room for two. Meals were healthy and delicious. The bike tours well organized with tips on what to see and choices for shorter or longer routes. We missed the evening guided walks around the villages we docked in. Some strong winds pushed me to ask if there was an extra e-bike available. There was! The whole crew was very welcoming and helpful. And the scenery is as always, fantastic! The bikes are comfortable but heavy. Since we live far away, we can t bring our own. We recommend this tour.

Our tour on the Lena Maria was excellent. The chef Lars was excellent and we all looked forward to our meals each evening. The storage space in our cabins was very good. Our tour guide Thomas was very good although busy crossings at streets was often stressful having to bunch up and cross quickly. I realise we had a big group to keep together. The facilities for dining and lounging were good.

This was a wonderful trip and incredible value. The boat was well appointed and our room exceeded our expectations. Our chef made amazing meals and our tour guide was world class. So nice to have the E bike option for my wife and the bikes were well-maintained and of good quality. We rode on our own at a different pace from the rest of the guided tour. The mapping app made this extremely easy for us. We will most definitely use this company again on one of its numerous tour options.

We really appreciated having a guide on our tour – Thomas shared his local knowledge and eliminated any stress of not being able to find our way. The meals were amazing thanks to Lars. His fresh baked bread every morning made us look forward to our packed lunch and every dinner included plenty of beautifully prepared fresh vegetables to go with a delicious main and scrumptious desserts. The friendly guests topped off an excellent week!

The Lena Maria was a very comfortable barge with roomy cabins, comfortable bunks and plenty of storage. Helpful and very friendly staff and an especially wonderful chef who provided excellent meals. Good dining and lounge areas. Group numbers for riding on  The Green Heart tour need to be kept smaller than our 22 members for riding through cities. It was too difficult and dangerous all trying to negotiate intersections and traffic and keep up with only one guide.

Very enjoyable–Very good guide– very good food–good bikes, but took some time to get used to only five gears.

This tour was well organized and the amenities on board were top notch. The food was excellent and the staff friendly. We travelled with 15 in our group and were joined by 3 Austrians and 2 Germans. We. Visited 4 or 5 historic towns and our guide pointed out various historical sites. I would highly recommend this tour to others.
