We really appreciated having a guide on our tour – Thomas shared his local knowledge and eliminated any stress of not being able to find our way. The meals were amazing thanks to Lars. His fresh baked bread every morning made us look forward to our packed lunch and every dinner included plenty of beautifully prepared fresh vegetables to go with a delicious main and scrumptious desserts. The friendly guests topped off an excellent week!

The Lena Maria was a very comfortable barge with roomy cabins, comfortable bunks and plenty of storage. Helpful and very friendly staff and an especially wonderful chef who provided excellent meals. Good dining and lounge areas. Group numbers for riding on “The Green Heart” tour need to be kept smaller than our 22 members for riding through cities. It was too difficult and dangerous all trying to negotiate intersections and traffic and keep up with only one guide.

Very enjoyable–Very good guide– very good food–good bikes, but took some time to get used to only five gears.

This tour was well organized and the amenities on board were top notch. The food was excellent and the staff friendly. We travelled with 15 in our group and were joined by 3 Austrians and 2 Germans. We. Visited 4 or 5 historic towns and our guide pointed out various historical sites. I would highly recommend this tour to others.

Lena Maria is just fantastic. Klaas (our guide) is just the best!! Lars is an absolute Master Chef!! Cabins lovely and clean!! Thoroughly recommend!! E-bike make the bike riding so much more relaxing! !

We loved the boat Lena Maria and the crew (Conny, Robin, Lars, and Klaas). The food was outstanding. It was rated as easy (level 1) but turned out to be moderate. Changes had to be made because of low canal/water levels, and that was understandable – as a result, there was only 1 choice of route each day, and some were more km than anticipated.

Everything went like clockwork in a very relaxed way! Our small group of 14 might have been the reason. The dinners were top notch and special every day. Breakfasts and our boxed lunch systems were very good too. It gave us needed calories for pushing the heavy bikes and the selection was large and perfect for the varied tastes. We wished the bikes were lighter and the seats were more comfortable. I am short so I felt the handlebars were too high and couldn’t be adjusted. We observed that e bikes make riding a different experience for some of us with regular bikes. We liked the shorter options which were perfect to view the forest, water, animal and tourist sights. Our bike tour leader Thomas was well organized and always had good advice. He was very encouraging and knowledgeable and kept us moving safely with planned rest stops. We enjoyed our conversations with him. Everyone on the boat crew was wonderful too and made our week very enjoyable. Chef Lars’ passion for cooking was fully evident in the delicious and varied creations every night! All in all, a fantastic experience! Our first boat and bike trip! Thank you for making these trips available.

1) it should be made clear that the shorter route option is unguided 2) Food and boat excellent 3)would have appreciated more history of Hanseatic towns in English. We were in German group 4)Dining seating flexibility would be better. 4)Boat crew excellent

Everything was good and even very gooD, except my E-bike. The first day I have seen that the breaks were not in order and I inform the guide of this fact. I’ve got the answer that it would be fixed. The second and third day it was absolutely the same, what I said to the guide again. The fourth day the front wheel bloqued completely on a downhill ride !!! The guide gaveme his bike to finish the journey. It was supposed to be fixed on the evening but the fiftth day, the breaks were a bit better but not repared. I’m not satisfied with the E-bikes and the bad response of the Company that has provided the E-bikes and its bad after-sales service.
