Boat – gorgeous Cabin – comfortable enough, well equipped enough Staff – friendly and helpful Bikes – not too shabby; would struggle to cycle very long distances on them (sit-up-and-beg style) Food – plentiful if you are not on any specialist diet Routes – lovely, pretty Excursions – as expected and interesting. All have extra costs to pay, beware Other passengers – we had a fab lot, made new friends. Overall, really enjoyed this trip. Main disappointment for me is that the trip is advertised as a 5 day tour, when in reality it is 3 full days and an afternoon.

We were a family group of 7 Canadians who had been looking forward to this trip for 2 years. It was my first experience with an ebike, and despite recovering from a recent knee injury, that choice, plus the flat route, made the whole ride most enjoyable even in some very windy weather. There is a reason the Netherlands has so many windmills! Though small the cabins were very clean and comfortable, the staff were VERY helpful and kind, and Chef Ben’s food was exquisite! The boat was spacious with several lounging areas to enjoy the sunshine, the view of the locks, or even just a little quiet time. Even the wifi was great. We felt very safe in the care of our wonderful guides Corrie & Jerome (sorry, apologize for any name misspelling). After using a road bike for many years, I wondered what the heavier touring bikes would be like but in fact they handled beautifully and the Ebike felt like we were going downhill even during very windy days. The paniers were very well designed, and most convenient for carrying lunches, extra clothing (the spring weather can be brisk &/or wet) or even souvenirs. This route would be an excellent choice for a casual cyclist, especially because of the comfier saddle and ebike option. We had a wonderful time and made some great memories!

The people make the trip, and our tour guides and boat crew were absolutely top notch. Chef Frank created amazing meals and our cabins were spotless. Tour guides Peter, Mika, Caroline and Marija were so much fun and were always ready with a ‘Plan B’ when there were issues involving our daily routes.

The tour was expertly coordinated and executed by both Nam and Hoang& everything exceeded our expectations! The personal stories greatly increased our understanding and love the VietNamese people, its rich culture, and history.

What an incredible tour. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was amazing (thanks Sidi!). The bikes we rented rode so smooth, and the routes were lovely. This was a great pace of vacation for our group, enough time on the bikes and exploring, and enough down time in the afternoon/evenings to relax on the boat, play a game, have a drink. I would definitely recommend if you want a good balance of exploration and relaxation.

Booked a tour a year out in advance. I had to cancel with the trip still being 9 months away. I was refused a refund of my deposit. The cancellation policy is deceptive and the wording is in poor customer service to the consumer. I will not recommend Boat Bike to anyone.

Great tour. We went to multiple islands, and each had their unique setting. Great vistas, Vera, the guide was terrific – she communicated well, shared fun facts for each stop, and was fun. The boat was a Turkish Kate boat and the captain and first mate were conscientious and lovely with local knowledge. He watched the weather and guided us to multiple islands with great weather in September. We went to Lipari, Vulcano, Salina, Stromboli (excellent active volcano we did a hike at 7:00pm and wore headlights it was a highlight. The captain then sailed around the island afterward so we could see it from the water too) and Panarea (upscale very pretty island). Each stop was active and great. The Sundial cabins are very small but manageable. We swam off the back of the boat. Each had its own bathroom and AC. However, if you are a very tall person.. you may want to check before you go. The food was excellent!

Guides and all the Staff was fabulous. The actual experience lived up to the description very well. Food was delicious. I loved the biking portions, and the bikes provided were first class and powerful bikes. I can totally recommend this companies tours.
