    E-Bike Tour

The riding pace is determined by the cyclists on e-bikes. Guests who are taking part on this tour on a gravel bike should have the necessary physical condition to keep up with this pace. The tours will take us up to a height of 400 to 700 m above sea-level. The day-tours from 12 to 37.5 mi. (20 to 60 km) will take us through hilly and mountainous terrain. Thank you for your understanding.

The ship – Your sailing hotel

In between cycling excursions, you cruise along with the ship, which travels to a new destination every day. You will sleep and have breakfast and 1 or 2 warm meals on board. Depending on the program, this will be lunch or dinner. The other meal is ashore (not included). It’s possible to spend a day on board if you like. There are rental E-bikes on board.

    Itinerary

Day 1 Trogir (Embarkation) – Island of Vis

Individual arrival by car to Trogir or by plane to Split airport, which is about 4 mi./6 km away from the harbor of Trogir. After check in on the motor yacht between 1 and 1:30 pm the first cruise starts about 2 pm from Trogir to the Island of Vis where we spend the night.

    Day 2 Island of Vis
    32km19 mi

Vis is the furthermost island from mainland Croatia. A Greek colony called Issa has been on the island 2,300 years ago. Due to its strategic location it was a military zone until 1995 and prohibited for foreign tourists. Today we have the opportunity to explore the lovely island by bicycle. After cycling the boat takes us to the Island of Korčula. Overnight stay in Vela Luka.

    Day 3 Korčula Island
    60km37 mi

Today we discover the island of Korčula by bicycle and enjoy our lunch break in one of the local restaurants. The calmness and remoteness of the vast vegetation and cypress gardens have given the shape to the probably most beautiful Dalmatian island. Our cycle tour leads us via the village of Blato, like Rome build on seven hills, along a pass road across Pupnat bay and finally to Korčula town, where we have time to take a walk through the wonderful old town with its narrow “fish-bone like” alleys. We stay overnight in Korčula town.

    Day 4 Island of Hvar
    20km12 mi

In the morning the ship cruises to the island of  Hvar while we enjoy breakfast. Before arriving at the island capital we have time for a swim from the ship and a relaxed lunch at anchor. Once on land we have time to soak in the atmosphere of the magnificent Renaissance Square of Hvar town and enjoy the view up to the Spanish Fortress situated high above the city. Our ride takes us from the city of Hvar to the most beautiful view points on the island and past fragant wild lavender fileds to the town of Stari Grad. Stari Grad is the second largest settlement on the island and well known for its protective harbour and beautiful stone facades. The night is spend here.

    Day 5 Island Brač
    30km18 mi

Today we cruise to the island of Brač, which is famous for its radiant, precious limestone that was, among others, used for the White House in Washington or the Reichstag building in Berlin. Once on Brač, we start our bike tour from Milna. Throughout our tour today we will rewarded with fantastic views over the neighboring islands before descending to the harbor of Postira. Here we can enjoy a relaxing afternoon with time to swim and a quite evening in this sleepy seaside town.

Day 6 Postira – Omiš | Omiš or Rafting Cetina River
    44km27 mi

During breakfast the boat brings us to Omiš. Today we have the choice either to take a bus transfer to go rafting through the Cetina Canyon (not included in the tour price) or to make a bike tour around Omiš. The bike tour takes you once around the outskirts of the canyon with great views over the river and back down towards the sea. The rafting group will be picked up from the boat by a bus and are taken to Omiš for the excursion. From here they will follow the river downstream in the rafts gaining a unique perspective of the canyon and its flora and fauna. Participants of the rafting trip are brought back to the boat in the bus after the activity. In the afternoon we cruise to Split, where we spend the night, where we have a guided city tour in the evening.

Day 7 Šolta Island – Trogir
    20km12 mi

After crossing over to Rogač on the island of Šolta we commence our last cycle tour. Walled fields, numerous olive groves, locust bean and fig trees line the roads. The herbal smells of rosemary accompanies us along our tour through this island. Our boat awaits us in Rogač and we enjoy our last crossing back to Trogir where, if time permits, we can take a tour of the old town which is a world heritage site. The last evening aboard our ship follows a nice tradition. While enjoying the communal dinner in a cosy atmosphere you will have the chance for a last get-together with your crew and your tour guides.

    Day 8 Trogir (Disembarkation)

After breakfast disembarkation until 9 am and individual trip home.

    Good to know
    • Itinerary changes We reserve the right to make changes to the planned itinerary due to changing wind and weather conditions as well as organizational requirements. Should it be the case for example that the harbors on the above mentioned tour sequence are overcrowded, the tour will be operated in reverse.
    • Language aboard Due to our international audience all tours are conducted bilingually, in English and German.
    • Level 4 / 5: Cycling tours through hilly to mountainous terrain with some steeper ascents of up to approximately 400 meters. All tours, including the elevation gains, can be mastered more easily with electronic assistance. Requires confident riding on winding descents, uneven asphalt, and occasionally gravel paths. Suitable for experienced cyclists accustomed to longer daily stages.
      • Distance: 30 – 60 km km per day
      • Elevation: 400 – 700 meters of elevation per day
      • Road conditions: The roads are mostly asphalted and there is little traffic outside of holiday periods. In some places, short sections of the route follow unpaved gravel and dirt tracks.
      • Traffic: In and around the coastal city of Split, as well as in the town of Hvar, traffic can be expected.
      • Infrastructure: There are no designated bike paths in Dalmatia, so the bike tours take place on public roads, preferably on quiet side streets.
    • Relevant for all levels: Safe cycling skills and familiarity with road traffic are prerequisites for taking part in our tours. Anyone renting an e-bike should already have experience and be confident in handling e-bikes, as these bikes are significantly heavier and faster than conventional bikes.
    • Individual cycling: This tour is primarily a guided group tour. Upon consultation with your tour guides, the possibility to cycle on your own along recommended, suitable routes, may present itself. You are free to set aside a half or full day to swim or spend on board the boat, instead of taking a planned bike tour.
    • Guided group pace: On our e-bike tour programs, the riding pace is determined by the cyclists on e-bikes. Guests who are taking part on these tours on a gravel bike should have the necessary physical condition to keep up with this pace. Thank you for your understanding.
    • Children We believe that only children with a good physical condition and previous bicycle tour experience and a minimum age of 10 are able to master the cycle tours with their own strength. Please note that the minimum height for a rental e-bike is 1.50 m (4.9 ft.). Follow-me bikes, bike seats and bike Bungees can also be hired for accompanying children. Our reservation experts are happy to provide you with more detailed information on request. It is mandatory for all participants on our tours to wear a bicycle helmet.
    • Catering The on-board chef is a member of the crew and prepares the breakfast and one or two warm meals a day. Catering starts with the dinner on the arrival day and ends with the breakfast on the departure day. The catering consists of 2 x full board and 5 x half board.
    • Our ships Please do not forget that the ship is your hotel as well as a machine, which has to be maintained and operated – day and night. A certain level of noise is therefore inevitable.

      Solo traveler, wonderful experience

Great guides on our trip! As a solo traveler, I felt taken care of and respected and included in all activities. My skill set for the 15% grade rides was not sufficient, but no judgement from staff. I was able to feel comfortable choosing rides that were my level and felt a part of the group the entire trip. Swimming off the back of the boat, evening dinners, meeting people from all over the world, it was a great trip.

      Reply from Boat Bike Tours

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear that, as a solo traveler, you felt supported and included throughout the trip. It’s great that you were able to enjoy the journey at your own pace and still felt connected to the group. We hope to welcome you on board again in the future. Kind regards, Boat Bike Tours
