A really enjoyable experience on the Island Hopping Boat Bike Tour of Holland. We’d not undertaken a holiday of this type before but would really recommend one. The boat and cabin are perfect. Very comfortable cabins but very limited on space, there’s no where to store hard shell or large suitcases in the cabin so take soft sided bags. We took our own helmets but they do provide helmets. We should have taken our own bike seats as the ones on the bikes are quite hard and wider than our own. The guides told us we could have brought our own. But we managed The Crew are so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They were always able to answer our questions. The food was really delicious =ØÞ and the chef very accommodating for those with different food preferences. There was something to suit everyone.

The cycling was great, the cabins on the ship were a little crampled but the communal spaces were comfortable.

Boat & Bike was very responsive to any questions we had prior to departing on the Waddenzee trip aboard the Leafde fan Fryslan. The ship s crew (of 5) was fantastic and we recommend this adventure highly! The biking experience was pretty easy (flat!) while the scenery was first-rate. The suite we stayed in was spacious and very comfortable. The food aboard was varied and good. We would do this trip again!

My trip was very well run and a smooth enjoyable experience for a first time on boat and Bike. I was stressed for personal reasons and with tight surrounding events/activities and a last minute booking was usure what I was in for, but was really pleasantly surprised!!

The whole trip was brilliant, I will definitely be doing another boat bike trip again. The sailing was lovely, the hosts were super kind and the food was fantastic. We loved the rent bikes as they were sturdy and easy to ride. The routes were well chosen for us, we mixed long and short routes depending on what we felt on the day. We both enjoyed the trip very much

Excellent balance of riding and sailing. Accommodation and food was first class. The 5 crew members were professional, friendly and did not appear to be at work! They were amazing – skipper, mate chef and hosts.

I enjoyed the staff, there was definitely not enough to help with the ship and they did not know the ship well. There was no medical assistance when I got injured, more training for possible injuries should be happening. Also I had to bike out injured and should not of have to do that.

Excellent crew on this holiday. The food was of a high standard. The weather was perfect for our trip – it was very special to travel on this 3 masted ship.

I thoroughly enjoyed my week aboard the Lefde van Freslan. The trip was interesting, varied and it all went very smoothly despite some wild, windy days. The ship itself was remarkably comfortable and it was far better than my opinion when I stepped aboard a few years ago. The public areas are spacious and well laid out with plenty of room for all the guests. My single cabin was small, as you know, but adequate with a good size bathroom. It had everything I needed with perhaps a space under the bed to store a suitcase. Other twin cabins onboard were remarkably spacious. The idea of putting up the sails appealed to everyone onboard and there were many enthusiastic helpers. Sails were hoisted, even the topsail, at every opportunity. The crew of just four were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and nothing phased them. They all worked tirelessly to make everyone s trip the best it could be and still had time to chat and offer advice where needed. A big thank you goes to chef Peter who s menu and presentation gave me some of the best meals I have experience on a boat and bike trip. Plus he always had fresh cakes or cookies for afternoon snacks. Brilliant. The bikes, mine an e-bike, worked perfectly, with more than enough battery left at the end of the day. The whole group only had one flat tyre and no mechanical breakdowns during the week and that was quickly dealt with. The itinerary was fascinating, a great mix of wild natural beauty, Dutch culture and history and wonderfully varied cycling paths. I enjoyed the art galleries, museums, a traditional market or two, the coffee shops – especially the Heartbreak Hotel – and the views across the North Sea beaches. I appreciated the widespread internet access. The seafood on the islands and the frites were great, I often came back with my sandwich lunch uneaten. The trails through the woods and beside the sand dunes and polders were great fun. We had more than enough information with the app, map and junction sheet. No one got lost, no one was likely to. I took lots of photos, especially on days when we had brilliant sunshine. I have no hesitation in recommending this trip to anyone who enjoys cycling, including those occasional cyclists, and the romance of a traditional sailing ship. And my goodness, wasn t it brilliant to see those rows of old and restored sailing boats in every port we visited.

All of the staff- Floris, Lauret, Carolina and Peter were extremely competent at their jobs, and so friendly. Food was delicious and rooms were comfortable. The area we biked was beautiful and trails were lovely.
