We highly recommend Boat – Bike Tour Co. because they provide a rare combination of excellent service and value for sailing on uniquely beautiful boats (especially the barquetines) and bike riding on comfortable bikes. When booking your tour it is advisable to request a properly sized e-bike because it could be difficult for non e-bike tour members to keep up with the many tour members that use e-bikes.

“We had a great trip on the Sail and Bike Frisian Sea ship Leafde fan Fryslan. The crew of 4 handled the 300 ton ship easily, the cabins were small as one would expect on ship but very comfortable and each has it’s own bathroom. The crew prepared breakfast and dinner and provided bread, cheese, snacks and meat to make sandwiches each day for the ride. After breakfast, the crew set up all the bikes on the dock so all we had to do was get off and get our bike and take off. A very good map was provided to follow the well-marked bike routes – a short and long ride were outlined. You could stay on the boat if you didn’t want to ride and go walking in the town to sightsee. Dinner was generally served at 6 PM and was always very tasteful. The captain and crew handled the ship well when we sailed and docked in a new port. Overall we were very impressed with the cruise and the service and are considering going with this same ship next year for their “”Tulip Cruise””. We highly recommend this tour and this company.”

The trip was excellent even though we had difficulty with setting it up as problems with info received . I realize there were a few of us concerned but receiving the total information caused problems. thanks Laura

Great experience

A really fantastic trip to the Friesan Islands aboard Leafde fan Fryslan – a beautiful sailing ship with a great captain and crew who worked hard throughout week to ensure we had a great holiday. A very competent skipper and first mate made sure everything was done in a very professional manner (yet always seemed to be relaxed – very important for us on our holidays!). The chef fed us of the best and the housekeeper answered every request with a smile. If you like fresh air, nature and exercise you will love this trip.

The holiday exceeded my expectations in every respect and I had a really great time. The boat, although old had been refurbished and was very comfortable and each room had its own en-suite facilities which included a shower compartment with a folding door! The catering was remarkably good given the size of the galley kitchen and again was much better than I had anticipated. The Skipper was amazingly competent and great fun. I hope to return to enjoy another holiday as soon as the diary permits.
