The tour was awesome. Led by our guide Carlos. Great sense of humor and very helpful. Our meals were delicious. We wanted for nothing. Awesome scenery and towns in Provence and Camargue. Aigues Mort was the cherry on top of an incredible adventure

We were 18 family and friends on the Caprice beginning our trip May 7. Our week in Provence was wonderful. The barge was clean and comfortable. Our guide, Melanie, excellent. Our chef, Josef, was fantastic: great varied gourmet meals made from fresh ingredients from markets along the way. Our Captain, Pierre, kept us safe. We enjoyed the bicycling through the countryside and medieval towns with many stops for coffee, lunch or to explore the history. When we returned to the barge late afternoon, a snack would be ready. We enjoyed the option every evening after dinner to take a walk with Melanie through the towns we were docked in. Just a completely perfect trip!

The boat bike tour on the Rhône River was fabulous! The food delicious, Captain Pierre an excellent navigator, Melanie, the tour guide was considerate, thoughtful and a great historian and bicycles were in excellent condition. Definitely a wonderful vacation and experience!

From start to finish Boat Bike Tours did an amazing job. Our trip was scheduled for 2020 right as the Pandemic hit, and the company was completely open to giving us a full refund. We chose to hope for the best and finally our trip to Provence occurred in 2022. The boat was clean and comfortable (do not expect luxury, but quite adequate!), and the staff was exceptional. The captain, chefs and tour guide took care of every detail to make the trip so enjoyable. The bikes were in great condition and the routes well planned, the food on the boat was local & fresh, including regional cuisine. We will definitely consider taking another trip!

I would have given a better rating had Boat Bike Tours been more proactive in informing me of the Covid rules in France. I only learned about the Pass Sanitare a week before we left for France. This document is critical for visiting museums and other indoor facilities in France. I depend on the tour operator for giving us this type of information well in advance in order to avoid issues in the tour country. Also, the starting point of the tour was a very small town and when asked about transportation getting there, I received poor advice. We were able to overcome these issues and did have a great time on the tour and met a lot of very nice fellow bikers on the boat. I recommend this tour if you want to see a lovely area of France and some fascinating history.

“The schedule was always clear and followed in a timely manner. Our guides and crew were caring and responsive. The berths were “”cozy”” but clean. The biking itineraries were chosen to enjoy the best of the beautiful French countryside and also some of its inimitable culture and architecture. Last but not least, the cuisine was delicious, with authentic dishes given a little extra flair by our hardworking and exuberant chefs. We had a wonderful time!”

“This was our first biking and boat tour. It was amazing. We went with a big group of 10 nurses and 10 spouses. Biking was not difficult. It felt good biking around in France. We saw many things that we wouldn’t if we were driving. We are thankful for that. The guide Carlos and the crew Filippo, Josef, Marco and Nadia were friendly, positiv, helpful, nice and service minded. Made us feel like home. Trusted os for the boat, bar and the wine. This was a very enjoyable tour with an efficient and comfortable boat, good quality bicycles, a varied and interesting group of fellow travellers and a very competent, friendly and helpful crew. Our Captain led his team with easy efficiency, our Steward looked after all our on-board needs with care and a ready smile, our Chef provided tasty and interesting meals with plenty of variety and our cycling Tour Leader really made the whole experience with her happy disposition and her efficiency in navigating, fixing mechanical problems and looking after our safety.
