The cabin and bathroom are very clean. Food and service are excellent. Especially, the bike routes are selected just perfect, making the biking trips very enjoyable.

I found that the ship was too big compared to the two previous boat/bike tours; we didn’t get to know the crew and all passengers personally. Previous tours we were able to walk around the towns at night. The majority of the nights were spent cruising. The tour coordinator’s english was limited and low, so the German briefings were 5 times longer than the english. The tour director should have been able to provide information on public transport as the boat was docked 5 km from the town center in Vienna. He seemed more interested going off on his own bike trip. The bikes were not serviced prior to distribution tire pressure were low and keys were missing. No one was there to adjust handle bars and seats, which was a service on previous tours. I must say the remaining crew was hard working the food was good and the cabins were serviced twice daily, something I wasn’t expecting. This was the first self guided bike/barge tour. The guide and maps need to be updated with greater detail. We had better maps and greater detailed instruction at night briefings on our first two tours with a guide. The biking trips seemed to be rushed, we were told a couple of time don’t take the long route because of time or the road is busy. Biking was the main reason we go on these trips.

Over all, a good time. Biking distances were appropriate and mostly well marked, the food was plentiful and good. Points off for the following: 1. The wait staff was new and sometimes not attentive ( I frequently needed to get my own water/juice but was told by the manager that I could not do this; service did not improve). 2. Route briefings were a little hard to follow because the director interspersed travelogue info while giving directions. Better to give all route directions together, then sight seeing recommendations. Also, we were told of many attractive sights along the route, but then told to not spend much time at them to avoid being late to the boat. 3. Music in the lounge was too loud during afternoon snacks, which made conversation difficult. I had asked the lounge manager to ask the musician to lower the volume but he only did briefly. Very irritating and chased a few out of the lounge.

Wonderful ship, food, and service. The itinerary was perfect.

Although the Fortuna is a bit dated, and scheduled for replacement next year, we found our upper level cabin to be very comfortable with plenty of storage space. The onboard experience exceed expectations.very friendly and accommodating staff, good food and excellent dining service, comfortable lounge with nightly entertainment and complimentary wine and beer 7a to 10p. The cruise director was excellent, and held daily reviews of the following days bike routes with maps and highlights of the itinerary. Bikes were very high quality and stationed for easy access every morning for the days ride. The biking trails were well marked and easy to follow. Our trip itinerary from Passau to Budapest and back was spectacular.

Generally a good experience, but with room for improvement. The ship was fine, the crew was wonderful. We had great dinners, but breakfast was lacking and without much variety. The part of the trip that really needs improvement is the quality of the bikes…they’re pretty terrible. I’d recommend this trip to friends, but tell them to somehow bring their own bikes.

Very good experience, will definitely be a repeat customer. Room was great, bathrooms larger than large cruise ships, food was very good, breakfasts could have offered different options but overall good.Staff was very good.
