The staff for the trip was very good. The ‘barge’ was very nice, the room was bigger and more comfortable than we expected. The food was in our opinion just mediocre, not bad, but certainly not gourmet. On barbecue night, they ran out of rib’s before everyone had some. The bike tour was good, however there was only 2 guides for the 33 guests, which wasn’t enough. The group was usually split into long and short rides, so even with 15 to 20 in a group with 1 guide was too many people. On one ride one of the group was stung by a bee, he immediately began to have swelling, the guide had no emergency kit to deal with him and did not have knowledge about where there may be a pharmacy. Everyday there wasn’t a plan as to where to stop for breaks or for lunch. We had packed lunches from the barge but come lunch time we were told that in order to have a good sit down place (in a restaurant) we would have to buy at least a drink, or we wouldn’t be allowed to use the restroom. Not good planning in our opinion. The tour groups could have used more support, more experienced guides for smaller groups, or some kind of van support they could connect with in an emergency. The bikes were okay, but not good for experienced riders. This wasn’t a bike trip, more a lazy touring ride. The guide for our group several times had to retrace her steps as she wasn’t familiar enough with the route. Not a problem but sometimes frustrating for the group.

Dans l’ensemble très bien. Nous aurions souhaité avoir des guides ayant davantage de connaissance sur les villages que nous visitions. De l’animation en soirée sur différents thèmes auraient été chouette. Le personnel était agréable. Doléance; bien que nous ayons eu un beau souper BBQ sur l’arrière du bateau au soleil, il n’y avait pas de places pour 6 personnes dont nous deux, car il manquait 1 table; inacceptable.

The boat and rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The food was very good. The bike routes were scenic and mostly enjoyable and the bikes were in good working condition and comfortable. The one criticism I have is that one of the tour guides got off track more than once. It was her first time leading the trip and she did not use the GPS, which would have been helpful. The other bike tour guide knew his way around, but did not necessarily find or know of comfortable places (with seating and restrooms) to stop at for eating our bag lunches. The 3rd bike staff was supposed to be a “sweeper” (i.e. to bring up the rear and make sure no one got left behind). But I was left behind following a stop, despite letting the sweeper know I was lining up to use the WC. I felt a bit panicky when I came out and the group was gone. Fortunately, some of the self guided bike group were present at the same stop, saw which way my group had gone, and pointed me in the right direction.

The locations, ship, meals, and staff were amazing. The only complaint would be a need for better organization and communication around the daily cycling routes. The guides did get lost and occasionally wasted time going back and forth over routes already taken. A better GPS app and use of cell phone communication could be beneficial.

Great guide- so funny & knowledgeable.The host and care on the barge also wonderful- the room excellent, housekeeping spotless and meals very nice. Most of all it’s the perfect way to see the country you are in!

Lovely boat very comfortable. Friendly staff and delicious meals. I fractured my ankle on a ride and had to spend 2 days on the boat. Staff were helpful and caring . Guides also excellent.

The staff on the boat were very engaged and honestly interested in our well beings. We felt it was very much a prevaledge to be on the boat and to be guided to the sites with such knowledgable staff. the only small thing I would have liked to have was a mirror on each bike so riders could see who was behind them without having to stop and look back.

If I could give 6 stars, I would. The captain, the cook, the help staff, and the tour guides on the Magnifique III ship were exceptional. The bike tour guides stole the show: Hester and Esther and Hester were the ultimate professionals, knowledgeable and kind. Esther was often the guide of my bike group, and she showed patience when needed, a fun sense of humor, and made all the bikers feel confident and comfortable riding. This was the best vacation I’ve ever had. I strongly recommend the boat and bike tour! J. H.

great staff and guides, just an overall wonderful experience. Loved the concept of day time biking and staying on a boat overnight – no need to pack up and change hotels!

We were a party of 10. Grandparents, 2 sons in law , 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren 21,21,16, 18 boy, Who at 6,7” took a lot of filling. They certainly succeeded in coping with this slim young man’s appetite. The staff were so good to make everything special and the boat amazing. The chef fantastic. Great time had by us all. Cycling so beautiful. A wonderful way to create memories for our family. Adventures are great whatever the age.
