A great experience cycling between Amsterdam and Brugges. Well organized, freindly crew of the Lena Maria, knowledgeable and efficient. Meals were varied and sophisticated. Enjoyed touring the smaller towns and countryside. Many experiences we wouldn’t have otherwise had.

Thoroughly enjoyed my Boat Bike experience! Booking online was simple and communication from the company was great. The tour itself was a blast. It was well organized and all the details were taken care of. The boat, Lena Maria was a delight to travel on. Clean comfortable rooms, homey lounge area to enjoy time with the other guests. I love that it only holds about 22 passengers, as we all became friends by the end of the trip. The chef, Lars worked miracles in the kitchen. Delicious variety of evening meals. The crew were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. We were in great hands. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and ensured that everyone had a safe and enjoyable time. I would highly recommend booking a holiday with Boat Bike Tours!

The itinerary, the routes, and the timing were all great. The crew was excellent, efficient, friendly and accommodating. Ingrid and Andre our tour guides, were as different as can be. Andre friendly, easy going and funny and Ingrid more business like, very organized and with a wealth of information for every tour she leads. The food was excellent. The Fluvius has had some very nice reno s done but does show its age Our upper twin room was small, clean and tired and in need of a reno – like the double upper rooms had 4-5 yrs ago – bathroom and a window that opened. The air conditioning was challenged on hot and humid days. Overall we really quite enjoyed ourselves, and were very happy we d gone.

The crew (Eelke, Monique, Lars and Glenn) the Lena Maria were amazing. I would gove them a 10 out of 10. They were so engaging and made living on a boat for 8 days really easy and comfortable. The food was exceptionally good. The tour guide (Fred) was incredibly wonderful. I opted to deviate from the tour a couple of days and he was awesome. Fred ensured I was equipped with the knowledge and tools to get back to the ship as easily as possible. He did walking tours with interested individuals after the dinners on the boat and provided some information about the cities we were in. I would highly recommend this group of people.

The countryside, guides, weather (late August), tours, crew, food and fellow-cyclists all made this a wonderful experience. We ll have trouble matching this tour in the future in quality and care taken. This was a perfect trip.

We had a great time on the Amsterdam to Bruge tour. Loved all the staff, especially Matej and Ashley. From the time we stepped on the barge, they were friendly & welcoming. Our tour director Hugo was great. A wealth of knowledge. His passion for life shows. Loved all the meals, except maybe the duck, but everyone else seemed to love it. Loved the variety of meals. Prices for wine & beer were acceptable. We will definitely look into doing another bike & barge. The staff should have summer uniforms. Even the captain. Long sleeve white shirts are not necessary, and long pants are way too hot when we had the temperatures we had.

An excellent holiday. Very enjoyable. Very good cycling. We cycled independently and at times felt we didn t receive all the information we should have, as all the other English speaking guests cycled with a guide. Breakfast was excellent. Evening meals could have been bigger portions.

We had a great experience aboard the Fluvius from Amsterdam to Brugges. Enjoyed the guided cycling and evening city walks. Food was great, staff was friendly and helpful – very enjoyable trip.

I had a wonderful trip! Our guides were knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and just all-around fantastic. Our boats crew was just fantastic, from the friendly welcome to the heart felt good-bye these folks took exceptional care of us. Our boat, the Zwaantje was well cared for, maintained and a lovely home base to come home to each evening. Our chef was fantastic and accommodated my dietary restrictions despite the fact that that information had not gotten to him prior to our arrival. I highly reccomend the Bruge to Amsterdam trip, our guides and our boat!

We sailed on the Fluvius. The trip was nearly perfect. The staff was so kind and helpful and friendly! We enjoyed our tour guides (especially Hetty!). The cycling routes are well thought out to showcase a variety of landscapes. We traveled past farms, through small towns, into big cities, and occasionally past a castle or two! My only complaint is that the ship is a little run-down. Our bathroom door never quite closed properly. The air conditioning unit is falling off the wall. The upper deck had lots of spider webs and the furniture is pretty worn out. The sides of the boat are desperately in need of a fresh coat of paint. It was comfortable and relaxing, but some attention to these details would make a huge difference!

The leaders and staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience!

This was our 6th boat bike tour, the second time we had done this particular route. It s sad to say that it was the least enjoyable. We were on the  Fluviois ship, the second time we had been aboard this ship. It s now unfortunately looking tired and in need of updating. The staff were lovely but the evening meals were not great and not a lot of them! After cycling all day it would have been nice to have a hearty meal but alas what we got was minimal. Most people on board felt the same. Obviously cooking for 40+ people in a small kitchen is a challenge but we have had much nicer food in the past. Breakfast however was plentiful (except things kept running out, such as fresh fruit, muesli etc and weren t replaced for days) and there was ample food available to make up a packed lunch. We were all given a plastic bottle to fill with water from our bathrooms in the cabin. The cabins are small but functional, if you are organised and don t take too much they are fine. However we only had 3 hangers in our wardrobe, not great when 2 women sharing a cabin wanting to hang clothes so they weren t too creased in the evening. No entertainment in the evenings, which again is different to previous tours we have been on with this company. Cycling – we opted for the guided tour. Every day you are given a briefing of where we are going, places of interest and a list of numbers to follow and maps. Cycling in the Netherlands and Belgium is very easy following the number system. We had two guides. Jack & Stella. Jack could have been friendlier, but he was a good guide & knew his stuff. Unfortunately on the first day someone got left behind & no one realised, luckily she was able to make her own way by asking passers by & using great initiative caught us up. The routes were good, interesting and about the right sort of length. The hire bikes were ok, although there was a bit of a disaster on the last day when the handlebars broke on one of the bikes when we were still some distance from the ship. One of the guides then had to swap and negotiate cycling back with the dodgy handlebars. Well done to her. The bar bill needs to be paid at the end of the week. We were surprised to be told it was cash only. We also all needed to pay ¬ 30 cash extra for fuel supplements. Again, this has never happened on previous cruises. All in all though, it was an enjoyable week, if you enjoy exploring new places and are happy on a bike it s a great way of seeing the country. Would I do this tour again? No, but I would do other tours with this company.
